Tailgating at the Tahs Afternoon Games - Feb 15th 2013

Gents I headed down to Allianz for the Tahs / Blues match yesterday arvo, some mates and I managed just fine, settin up in front of the stadium by the pond. Easily 6-8 other groups all doing the same. 4 pm kick-off, arrived at 1:45 with fairly empty lot in front of stadium. Didn't seem to be any issues w groups allowed to gather by stadium, have some casual drinks, BBQ (I sure did) ... before headin in for the match. I'm happy to be the first one down and organise a FB event page, but if we have a contact across the way at a school parking lot, that's probably a more reliable option. Park Rangers did look a bit keen to pounce. Happy to make the call if someone can pass it on to me?

Anyways, if you've got the gumption to set it up next time, I'll be there. I phoned the Centennial Parklands office some weeks ago to enquire about grog, they confirmed that bit of Moore Park north of Lang Road is alcohol free as set out on the CP website. Walking back after Sunday's game I had a chat with a couple of old Tahs troupers in the Moore Park carpark (they were happily sucking on a few celebratory ales) about CP rangers questioning their imbibing practices; they weren't bothered before or after the match by the boys-in-brown, and they didn't hide their stubbies. Says it all really.

Should be more of it.
