Sydney Subbies 2025

The Country sides will be strong I think.

Renegades are represented in the ADF side that the Subbies boys will play on Thursday. Keen to see how that goes as ADF played a trial against ACT Griffins and got done 66-0 I believe.

Tough first outing for ADRU (not ADF) against Queensland Country who were a cut above.

Subbies ahead 24-14 at halftime vs SA Black Falcons.

We're scoring off kick-through which is probably not unexpected for a team without a lot of time to build combinations.

SA's tries coming directly from our mistakes at our own end - dive on it!

Ref seems to have injured himself.

SA finishing fast - their #7 is a gun. My MOTM if I'm honest.

Subbies lead 36-24 with about 5 to go. Take the points, boys.

Queensland Subbies put on a good show against NSW Country, going down 29-13 but fighting very hard.

Last year QSRU were decent but half their guys had to leave on the last day of regular play due to work commitments, so they were very short of numbers.

NSW Country back to form with a big win over Tasmania, after QLD Country took down South Australia 47-7

Sydney Women a big win over the Black Falcons as well

At halftime and despite a couple of opportunities, no score to Subbies. ADRU lead 21-0 with a well organised D line, and they're better at the ruck than Subbies. Tho I will say the tackler is spending that half-a-second at the back of the ruck to give their jackal a clean shot ;)

Had to step away and with about 3 minutes to go now ARDU are up 21-17 so I've missed all the Subbies scoring!

Over on the other field, QLD Country women are well ahead of NSW Country with a few minutes to play.

And, with a penalty on full time, Subbies kick it dead to deny any chance of a last-gasp score.

ADRU victorious 21-17. Will have to go watch that second half again.

Must say the camera work on the Subbies v ADRU game is up to the usual standard of NSWRugbyTV for Subbies matches
This is new to me but I recorded a game at Woollahra this year last minute when our camera man was sick and I deserve a job after some of the games I've watched. Sucks to be a winger making highlights!

Can anyone give me a hand on pre season 7s and 10s - got kiama and macarthur. what others are reliably on early in the new year?

There will be a Subbies Colts 10s in March I believe with womens 10s alongside.

Cowra 10s is usually late Feb or early March.

Good win by Subbies 27-24 as QLD Country miss a kick after the bell that could have levelled it.

QLDC's discipline under pressure was pretty bad. They've had a couple of cruisy hit outs so far but - as they say in the classics - "they don't like it up 'em!"

Sydney Women got their 3rd win with a 14-5 result over NSW Country Corellas.

Australia U18 lead 36-7 over NZ Schools. Yikes!

Subbies beat Hunter Dev by a fair margin to take third place in the Australian Rugby Shield.

Had they beaten ADRU in Game 2 they might have made the final against NSW Country which would have made interesting viewing.
