Sydney Subbies 2019

Gotta say I was curious how Blacktown would go this year, having to support an extra team in Colts - so far you have to be at least mildly impressed - top of the table in First Grade, equal 4th in Reserves, and equal third in Colts. That is a pretty fair effort.

You would assume they'll dispose of HAC then take the long weekend to do a big prep for Redfield - that game should be a very interesting clash. If we hadn't organised a Halligan game (we have the bye) I'd get along and watch it.

Yeah, they've done pretty well. Honestly, 7 teams can realistically win div 3. With the exception of probably Valley, the rest are all capable of beating one another, its good.

I am hearing that Rumour Ronald pulled on the boots for a cameo last weekend. How did you pull up Ronnie?

Leave the rumours to Ron, the mail to Karl Malone and the inside scoops to the ice cream man. I'll keep getting my news from The Beetoota Advocate too, because yours is terrible. Who am I supposed to have played for?

Back to the tips because I haven't paid the spies this week. Only got 14 last week. Orrible.

But here we go regardless:

Colleagues, Waves, Reds, Mountains
UNSW, Forest, Old Soldier, Pats
Valley (wink wink Valley girl), Redfield, HAC, Iggies
Macq Uni, Briars, Irish, Quinns
Lions, Burra, Maccabi
Wakehurst, Raptors, Chatswood

Now now Ronnie, no need to be so defensive. That rumour is no more outrageous than most of yours. Had some pretty good mail, but don't want to out the team that allegedly allowed you to pull on their jersey.

Is he outed?

Did he play for the convicts?

Div 1
Balmain vs COLLEAGUES - The tossers of the east to smash Div 2 bound Wolves.
WAVES vs Knobs - Waverley at home too strong for the Knox boys.
Petersham vs DRUMMOYNE - Great battle awaits but the dirty reds to prove to strong for Shammies.
MOUNTAINS vs Mosman - Be bleak and miserable at Lapstone and the Whales might not enjoy the local hospitality. MOTR.

Div 2
UNSW vs Hills - Going with the upset here as UNSW weren't too far away last start.
Bobs vs FOREST- Astute watches of this site will note that I thought BOBS accepting promotion based on their one off 50 year celebration success was always fraught with danger. With the standard of 1st grade in DIV 3 last year I can see why they wanted a challenge but player drain was always on the cards and even their premiership winning colts and 3rds are struggling.
LINDFIELD vs hh - Old soldier to bounce back at home
St PATS vs Epping - ST PATs in an arm wrestle.

DIV 3
Hawkesbury vs BROTHERS - Will go with the Brother grimm.
ROBS vs Newport - Even though the clash is being payed at Sommerville oval will go ROBS in this high scoring encounter
Hac vs BLACKTOWN - Think there could be some niggle in this one, Blacktown in a brutal one.
Beecroft vs IGGIES - IGGIEs are on a roll and will win this one in a canter.

I'm interesred to know which club I'm supposed to have an association with these days

I see you Mr. Ronald... or can I call you "Rumour"?

Tips coming in thick and fast this round.

Div 1:
Balmain vs COLLEAGUES. Colleagues will win... but no one really cares.
Waverley vs KNOX. Knox it a tight one. A real flog-off here... Not a decent bloke in sight.
PETERSHAM vs Drummoyne. Shammies to bring home the biccies here in a good battle.
MOUNTAINMEN vs Mosman. The big boppers to put the whales to the sword here. Might venture down the Balmoral for a beach day seeing as basically everyone in Mosman is registered for the Whales... Might be able to get a park and a hot choccie.

Div 2:
unsw vs HILLS: I dont really care.
BOBS vs Forest: Yeh why not... I do love a roughie.
LINDFIELD vs Hunters: Hard to go against Lindfield at home...
PATS vs EPPING: Draw. Dont like either of them as people or rugby teams.

Div 3 (The people's Division):
VALLEY vs Brothers: Obviously, Those idiots from roseville are in for the fight of their lives. Heard they have 3rd grade playing too... plenty of tired boys all day for them.
ROBs vs Newport: Surely ROBs here...
hac vs BLACKTOWN: An Emotion fueled game... hard to tip against Blacktown in any game. so i wont
Beecroft vs IGGIES: someone clearly lit a fire up Iggies recently. They'll do this comfortably.

Till next time fellas.

Jeez, big trip from Windsor to Balmoral... particularly for a beach day when its colder than a penguin's ballsack outside.

Harsh words from you... Isn't your dad our treasurer? Maybe if you didn't bitch it this year, blokes wouldn't have to back up.

You may only use the safety word "mayday"

May I say, I love the way you tip. You could be the brown paper bag to my longneck. The ice cube to my cask wine. The non-descript brown sugary refreshment to my cane sugar based spirituous liquor. Do you tinder?

Did the girlfriend or sister who invaded the pitch last weekend get a call up to 1st grade this week? Assume her and the other ground invader are barred from subbies games for a while?

In the words of the immortal T-Birds, "tell me more, tell me more did she put up a fight"?

Did someone invade the pitch last week at Porters?

HV winger threw a couple of hay makers at Newport number 6 who wasn’t interested and ducked them. But his 3rd one connected which then lead to Newport self defence and he didn’t miss him. Not sure if it was HV players girlfriend or sister who then came into field + another teenage family fiend or family member (male). HV players rounded them up and shoed them away pretty quickly but these things can quickly escalate. Newport ground marshal also came on to field to grab the Newport plaYer.

But that was just a side show to the great night had by both playing groups up at the club later. HV boys were in great spirits and their bus virgin routine of a dry weetbix and a raw egg in a port short is truly horrific to see.

Interesting. Yeah they're generally good blokes.. just got home from a game we definitely didn't deserve to win on the bell. We were garbage...

Haha I have seen the valley bus virgin initiation... can confirm "ValleyGirl" has actually participated as a brothers sacrifice

Jezz there were some interesting results over the weekend.

The whales getting up by such a big margin at Lapstone blew me away.

Despite a red card Blacktown knocking over HAC at home

Oatley getting beaten at home by Mac Uni

Pretty pleased BOBs picked up a win in 1st grade. They have had a few close loses so great to see them back in the winner circle.
