Yes Dave Alex did have him a couple of times however you can't deny the contribution he made.

He was incredible on his feet wasn't he, I agree, it also shows the speed and class of Northam as Narracot did win them the GF last year - i agree

Alex Northam is a terrific player .First saw him playing in the Scots Sevens tournament where both he and Matthew Narracott wore GPS devices to monitor their top speed and distance covered. Matthew is significantly quicker however rugby is not just about your top speed but how and when you use it . Both Alex and Matthew have terrific acceleration which is their real asset in rugby.

any reports on other games - souths v eastwood, manly v warringah... some great battles there usually, in all 3 grades,

^^^ Mostly from Grade teams (Pulver, Stewart, Vaux) + Cam Skelton selected for Samoa U20's.

Tomas Robertson is a regular Colts player IIRC.

Credit to the Norths Teams/Club. They have recruited/retained well over the last few years.

Their campaign to date seems to have been one where they have just not clicked.

Seems as it they did yesterday.

As someone said above, I feel for Gordon next week. Norths have done then no favours.
Robertson has been in grade more than Colts HJ.
And isn't it handy to substitute An Oz Schools player with another?

A few from the 2013 school leavers crop (not only Aust Schoolboys, but State Reps as well) playing Grade in their 1st year out. Some cameos off the bench, some as injury cover, some regular starting 15.

Jones and Kellaway did not look out of place in the games I have seen. Not seen Hanigan's 1st Grade games yet so no comment. Tulloch is a regular with Norths 2. Sandell = Uni 2's starting cameo.

Round 6 with Penrith Colts

Colts 2- Parramatta 43 def Penrith 5
Colts 1 - Parramatta 43 def Penrith 17

Full credit to Parramatta who were a very professional outfit and well prepared. However, our boys were as flat as tacks and certainly didn't embrace the seniors approach to this fixture which saw very level scores in most grades.

Couple of nasty injuries didn't help either with tight head Andrew Zinghini gone for the season with medial & ACL tears.

Oh well there's always a bus trip next week to easts!

Thank you Wreckless for the shoutout!

Fellas, I've embarked on the Gordon Rugby Colts this year as the tartan needs to grow and has done so quite well.

I'll give you a few interesting facts and stats about Newington and Gordon

Newington 1sts, 2nds and 3rds - GPS to Sydney Colts

1st XV

Matt Serhorn - Still at School (played wicks in off-season)
Stuart Mill - Sydney Uni 2nd Colts
Lachie Cannell - Eastwood 1st Colts/2nd Grade
Ellis Abrahams - Manly 1/2s Colts (not sure)
Josh Mitchell - Gordon 1st Colts

2nd XV

Campbell Shearer - Randwick 1st Colts
Tim Lee - Randwick 3rd Colts

3rd XV

Will Makeig - Gordon 2nd Colts
Ruben Mackellar - Gordon 2nd Colts
Ed Pollitt - Norths 2nd/3rd Colts

Such a shame that the likes of Joey, Tanne and Tepai did not stay with God's game but oh well.

Unfortunate to see a lack of boys returning to play this year from Newington. But nonetheless atleast there is some!

Gordon Highlanders

I'll keep it short and sweet with this one but Gordon has done surprisingly well to recruit such a good group of lads from all over Sydney, the central coast and even interstate. This year with a tough comp and strong numbers by other clubs sees Gordon having to fight each week for a win. Luckily by round 6, the boys all know each well now and luckily, injury and discipline haven't got in the way of a solid turnaround for the Gordon Colts. All they need now is a win!

GPS schools 1st XV/2nd XV/3rd XV boys in Gordon Colts

Alex Barker - Riverview 1st XV 2013
Nathan Kelly - Riverview 1st XV 2013
Josh Mitchell - Newington 1st/2nd XV 2013
Luke Gardner - Newington 1st/2nd XV 2012
Will Makeig - Newington 2nd/3rd XV 2013
Ruben Mackellar - Newington 3rd XV 2013
Angus McCelland - Kings 2nd XV 2013
Oliver Bird - Kings 3rd XV 2013
Lucas Bitmann - Kings 2nd/3rd XV 2013
Lachlan Kamp - Kings 2nd XV 2012
Isaiah Enriquez - Scots 2nd XV 2013
Samuel Tabua - Scots 1st/2nd XV 2013
Jack Robertson - Shore 1st XV 2013
Andrew Bligh - Joeys 2nd XV 2013
Sean Fagan - Joeys 3rd XV 2013
Pat Sutton - Joeys 3rd XV 2013
William Lee - Grammar 1st XV 2012/2013

Now isn't that interesting, I think it would have to be the only club in the competition dawning 6/7 GPS schools with players from it?

The rest of the Gordon Mix come from the country, Knox/Barker, central coast and locally.

Our boys reported a hard but clean contest at Nepean Rugby Park. The efforts of the people at Penrith to build a solid rugby culture were obvious with none of the dramas written about here recently. Keep up the good work Cattledog.

Good days rugby at forshaw on saturday with Eastwood winning all 3 colts games and Souths only joy was the win in 4th colts.
Souths 1st colts looked like they had the game under control with a 13 point lead with 10 minutes to go.
Eastwood started to chance there arm a bit more and some poor options by Souths in not looking at field position gave Eastwood the momentum to put on the pressure and with a converted try with 5 minutes to go had the large crowd buzzing.
Souths tried to control the ball but with a poor kick gave the Eastwood fullback an opportunity for 1 last attack resulting in a try on the bell and a fairly easy conversion for the win
A highly competitive game with some good rugby between 2 different styles of teams. Anyone watching there 1st game of Colts would be back the next week and there was a good crowd at the game and some lively banter between the supporters of both teams.
The results on the weekend show this is a very open competition and who knows who could win.

Do referees award player points in premier colts like they do in subbies first grade so that an overall player of the year can be awarded?

If so where are they recorded and whose winning?

It would also be good to see who's performing well "week in and week out" across the whole comp.
