Every time I watch the women's team run out I cannot help but think that we should be doing more with them from a domestic perspective. How hard would it be to get together with NZ Rugby and get a Womens 7s circuit up and running. Could even look to invite some of the Asian nations like Japan, Hong Kong and China. Run 6 to 8 events over as many weeks. Actually market it. Run it leading into Dubai.

Hopefully she gets decent game time v brazil & japan with a couple of meat pies! if she gets some confidence we could have another gun

From what I saw yesterday we do have another gun. Until injury strikes we are unlikely to see more than a few minutes for her each tournament, but the depth on outside players has just gone up a notch or two. My biggest worry is if Caslick cops something. She is currently indispensable for that team and if she isn't there we could be in a world of pain.

The issue is they don't look close to the top sides. 1st tournament so not going to give up on them yet.

Everyone knows 7s can be a big form game and luck at times between the top 4 sides. There is a drop off from that 6 and below mark though.

We have sides with fringe pros and kids. When a gem pops up they move onto Super Rugby like Toole, Lancaster and even Anstee would be better than the forwards out there now. I know 7s isn't the cream of the crop for any nation but we don't have the depth across the board to stretch it even further.

Don't really know what the answer is besides hoping to stack teams before an Olympics etc. Can't blame a kid for taking a 15s offer even if they may be better at 7s if they stuck to it. Look at Hadley Tonga. He's the talk of Rugby right now and 7s have him for two years then he moves onto the Waratahs...

Woah, those Levi girls are all class. Madi would score tries that we had no right to, hadn't manipulated the defence at all she'd just run rings around them. Hadn't seen much of Madi up until the final. Her ruck turnover near the end of the first half was the decisive moment, absolutely destroyed that ruck, a thing of beauty. Then moments later she runs the length of the field to score. 10/10.
