Kick it into the stands, maul, maul, pick and drive, kick it into the stands

Repeat
Perhaps my memory of last season is hazy, but pick and drive seems to be restricted to the zone 5m out from the try line. Usually we see slow breakdown ball being shovelled to a nearby pod whose 3 members truck it up a few steps until hit by the defence.
More pick and drive would bring the defence closer to the breakdown and free up some space when quick ball is available.

If we can fix our defence (and the trials made it look like we could) then we can challenge anyone. We scored quite well against most if not all teams last season. We just need to stop letting teams out-score us. [/UNQUOTE]

Aye, there's the rub!

And the forwards don’t drop it with way too many pick and drives when the backs have a two man overlap? Let’s see how Coleman coordinates it.

Actually RN, was watching Aotearoa rugby pod and Parsons reckons Tahs will be one of Aussie teams to watch this year. Thought well he sees RNs optimism too!
Well I think the tahs could do better then last season (always see the bar low so can beat it - hence thanks tahs for last season setting the bar very low)

Interesting , only Parson's opinion , but he reckons Harrison at 10 will be someone who will mature into a better player. (he sees him as a Wallaby soon). I not saying he knows more than anyone else etc, but I do find it interesting to hear players and ex players opinions as they tend to have an idea what is happening.
