My issue isn't the total number of POTY points awarded each game, it's that they're evenly split between both teams regardless of the match result.
Brownlow is done by the ref is it? You could have 3 points awarded by each coach & captain together that have to goto the other team. Then the ref team can award 6 points to any of the players. Still 12 points but more discretion.

That is correct re the Brownlow Medal.

I think the AFL Coaches votes system is good where they give 5,4,3,2,1 for the match. Generally the winning team will receive a greater share of the overall votes.

I don't think there'd be any issue where coaches/captains are favouring their own players when they've been belted.

Will be interesting when Motikiai Murray and Frazer McReight are on equal points in first place going into the last round with Reds v Drua

You sometimes see an odd 3 or 4 here that can only mathematically be explained by the losing coach putting one in for one of his boys, but across the course of the 23 games it typically comes out in the wash.

Add Luke Jacobsen to Tribe's injury list, it's been confirmed he broke his nose. Poihipi will have scans tomorrow to determine the severity of his knee injury which looked like a potential season-ender.

Poihipi now listed as being out for the season. No time-frame given for LJ but a broken nose is about four weeks? Or would it be more for a loose forward vs a back?

Has a championship winning coach ever left immediately? Deans? Happy for him to go get his bag though.
Scott Robertson, though I'm not sure it counts when you've got so many to your name. Eddie Jones went straight from a title with the Brumbies to the wallabies. I believe Nucifora was sacked the year he went on to win with the Brumbies too.

Not sure about other NZ/Saffa ones, but there were probably a few. It's just more often into the national job.

MacMillan has made it pretty clear he was always going end of next year anyway, says he done all he can in NZ, and time to get experience overseas etc, just he got offered this job a bit earlier. Sounds like someone rounding out experience etc to maybe step up to international team in a few years?
