I am a member of my club and the only time I get a vote is at the AGM to form the next commitee.

No but I am not familiar with the QRU's constiution. I have no idea as to what it stipulates in regards to who gets such privillages. In regards to fan memberships, as a reds member I am very happy with what I have got for my money. Last year as a forever red member the contents of the pack I recieved and the cost of the postage were money well spent. Financial aspects aside as a reds member I feel very much respected for my support for the team and they do a very good job of making members very informed of what is happening and you feel part of the team. As a reds member I feel my support of the team is every bit as valuable as the contents of my wallet.

I don't believe so, would you not want a say in how your (in my case the Waratahs) are run?

BTW can some one tell me how and who decides on how the Waratahs are run? I only know i can't purchase a membership to do so.

The Tahs are operated through NSW Waratahs Limited which pays the NSW Rugby Union a licence fee for the rights to use the Waratahs brand. I recall this was done to provide for the future possibility of private interests taking an ownership stake in the team. So you would probably need to be a shareholder or board member to have a say in how the Tahs are run. However, as fans I reckon we have a say by whether or not we go to the games or buy the merchandise since this affects the $$$ flowing into their coffers. With some of the crowd numbers seen at Tahs home games in recent years, the fans have been letting the Tahs know what they think.

This link provides more details on the Tahs corporate structure and where you can download the most recent Annual Report.

I don't see any logic in getting a Tahs membership if you live in country NSW. Even the supporters membership for $40 is pointless... They really should do a Merch Package rather than the supporters membership, that I would buy.

With the RRP of some of the team merchandise available, a merchandise package could be pretty expensive based on those prices unless they provide lesser quality products in the package. Then you could be better off waiting for the end of season sales of team merchandise.

Forever Red is $65 not the $85 said previously unless it has been made more expensive since i got mine. Great value considering the pack you get with shirt, keyring, lanyard, hat, discount tickets and a dvd of the final.

Does anyone know when packs will be sent out? Renewed mine in Sept and really don't want to wait until the start of the season, just want that dvd as i tried watching the final replay on youtube channel and the quality was pretty poor on a big tv.This year it arrived after things got underway so hopefully they are better prepared on this front.

an international forever reds membership is 75AUD. i was a little surprised when i went to renew. my 2010 membership cost me 40AUD and 2011 was 50AUD. it's the difference between supporting a winning team and a losing team i guess.
i also noticed that this year there was a lot less badgering to renew so i'm also guessing that members have been a bit easier to come by.

GO REDS!
