First some observations on the Force/Rebels game. Can't see anything that Cameron Orr did in the game to warrant selection by so many posters. Beaten at scrum time by Longbottom, absent in defense, ineffective at the breakdown and a penalty magnet. Only moment of merit was his over the top pass to Hodge for a try, but many referees would have called that forward.

Then, MOTM clearly Fergus Lee-Warner in my book - hit rucks like they were Sunday roasts, dominated lineout, and made ground over the advantage line with every carry, but Matt Philip was also very good. Koroibete had a very ordinary game giving away penalties and missing tackles. Unhappily, Naisarani confirmed others' comments on his poor handling. Too many dropped balls.

My TOTW is :

1. Sio (hardest job in rugby atm facing Tupou),
2. Ready
3. Tupou
4. Philip
5. LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto)
6. Wright
7. McReight
8. Samu
9. Tate
10. JOC (James O'Connor)
11. Daugunu
12. To'omua (no 12 outstanding, and if wingers can be picked either side, I will have next best 10 in the 12 spot)
13. Petaia
14. Wright
15. Campbell

16. Fainga'a
17. Slipper
18. Ala'alatoa
19. Neville
20. Lee-Warner

As I said earlier, it was not a week for loosies, all their stats were pretty shite.

Your man Sio made 3 runs for a total of 1m, 7/7 tackles and conceded 3 penalties (30% of Brumbies' penalties).

I went with Hoopert who didn't concede any penalties made 4 runs for 9 metres and 5/5 tackles (also, winning team and all).

Agree with that in general, BR.
Orr I agree with (he has made my TOTW in the past not this week). I also felt that Hoopert should not be ignored. Lee-Warner was good and I am starting to watch him. But the loose forwards is such a hard group to crack. Didn't get there for me, but I'm happy with your arguing otherwise. I could noit go past Blyth this week and like you had to recognise Phillip.

Neither Koroibete nor Naisarani make it for me this week. Also agree on the 12 connundrum. I went another way precisely because I didn't think I'd get away with To'omua but agree with your thinking.

Interesting week.

Interesting that the Rebels got so many players in the starting XV given they only won two of their four games and only one of those was particularly well won.

In terms of selections it would be interesting to see how much it changed if you gave every player a rating out of 10 for each game to remove the effect of the other game that week.

I.e. in week 6 the Waratahs had a big victory over the Reds but the Rebels had a big win over the Brumbies so both sides miss out on maximising their selections in their best game.

In week 8 the Brumbies spanked the Tahs but the Reds demolished the Force so the Brumbies certainly missed out on a lot of potential selections then.

In round 10 the Reds benefited from the fact that the Rebels vs Force game wasn't nearly as strong as their performance and got 12 players in the starting XV.

Matt To'omua would seem to have benefited that people have picked him in different positions given he played both 10 and 12 across those weeks and sometimes he got named by people at 12 despite playing 10.

Prob too much effort for anyone to do but it would be great to be able to select a team as each game - best in position as a vote and then select the TOW as a best of the two games vote
