There are more qualified people than me to dissect the Reds game, so I suppose I really have only one comment to make:

The Reds are the real deal.

And on a personal note, you fucking beauty!

Yeah I think the Reds ended up with the better of the ref as well. Often tends to happen to the team bossing the breakdown. Would like to see the Reds combine this type of play with their expansive game but they seemed wary of the Stormers defence.

That was some good tactical kicking from Cooper and Genia for most of the game, apart from that huge one that caught the wind and went too long. I wonder if Cooper could keep that sort of game up consistently however.

^Typo

Meant to be the Stormer's won't score more than 10 points ;)

Oh and I think this is finally the end of Fainga'a starting, about time. Woeful throwing again.

And I reckon that the stormers cheated more in that game, pitty there was not enough meat pie for the bonus point and of course the goats

In all due respect to the Stomers, they played as well as the Reds allowed them too. Complete heart and mongrel and very proud of the boys tonight. Would like to watch again before giving my points but Daley was outstanding.

Did anybody else lose the sound on the TV for that game?

That was my observation as well. The 'punch' YC was unlucky and probably didn't deserve it, but there was a penalty infront of the post where Genia was tripped that deserved it. The other trip was very dodgy and well caught. Reds however really were lucky not to lose QC (Quade Cooper) when he made that second high tackle; he probably deserved to go.

I must say that for those people that thought the Reds a one trick pony in terms of only being a flashy team that could run and dance well, by God have a look at this game. Aggression, muscle, willingness to hit bodies and the kind of grinding play that would make any Pom coach weep with joy.

You know you are in some alternate dimension when you hear the Saffa commentators say that Cooper has made some critical tackles.....

Not a very open match or exactly pretty to watch but he Reds get the biccies after they strangled the Stormers, despite a misfiring lineout. Good to see Daley stay up at scrum time - the Reds scrum looked in control most of the match.

Bit disappointed in Diggers - he didn't pin his ears back a few times I thought he should've.

I liked how the Reds attacked the breakdown - as he commentators said, the Reds bullied the Stormers.

Well, that's 11 goats for the game - 10 bonus goats for the two wins.

Now is it time to quote the trolls predicting the 40 point Reds loss?

Although he Stormers were off their game, the Reds didn't let them play. Importantly this is the Reds first win over a team who is a real contender. Up til now they'd only beaten teams mainly in the bottom half of the table.

QWERTY has already admitted he was wrong, no need to rub it in....

Reds scrum went very well against the Stormers.. Lineout was shaky which was always going to be the case against Bekkers, but i didnt think it would be 5 lost against the throw.

Very impressed with Hanson, lineout struggled at times which is partially his fault, but like mentioned above, Bekkers is the inform lineout jumper in the competition at the moment. I was also impressed with his tight work, he seems to go well in the pick and drive department which complements the playing style of Daley and Slipper nicely.

The center combination of Harris and Fainga'a whilst 'offensively' was quiet, it was very good in defence, they employed a very fast rush defence which they haven't used this season, quite literally pulled a Stormers against the Stormers.

Morahan at fullback, boy doesnt this kid have talent, big, fast and strong.. I think he did more then enough to earn another start at fullback, but in the long run i think he might be a outside centre, he is very Mortlock-esque(2003 version) in how he can beat opponents with speed and the fend.

Finally, Samo was the right call, his defence and big hits were fantastic, he might be getting old, but sheesh he knows how to knock a runner over.

Incumbently, over the ball?

Was talking more about his positioning on the field. I took special note of him when he came on, I know he was fresh but he was putting himself in the right positions at the right time. Something only a really talented rugby player can do, like McCaw.

Don't see how the Stormers really cheated. Would've liked to have seen a replay of that first yellow. Deon Fourie's was well deserved.

Had a chuckle at Habana's Hollywood after kicking past a jumping Mike Harris.

Morahan's performance was one of the highlights of the game for me. He played very well; this year he seems to be taking his chances and fulfilling a lot of the potential that people have talked him up for. I would be very happy to see him get more game time in the position.

Good to see the ref penalise Samo for unnecessarily counter-rucking. Hope all refs take this on board. Happens too often imo and is generally only intended to injure.

Watch the replay of the penalty at the base of a ruck near the posts in the first half again; the one where Genia tripped over as he was clearing the ball. It was definitely intentional.

Agree with that trip but outside of that the game from the Stormers was pretty clean - you can't say they weren't punished for the vast majority of their transgressions and outside those few cynical acts they didn't go out to deliberately slow and ruin Reds ball by whatever means.

Trevor Allan (34)
That's a fair point. It was pretty clean, although the presence of some more cynical acts did mar it a little for me. I am by no way suggesting the reds were angels either.

Absolutely bloody magic - you blokes have no idea how good it was to be in a pub with a bunch of Stormers supporters as this was going on!!

Jeez the scrum looked good, didn't take a backward step.
