Well even after a night's sleep, I have to say I not upset even as a Canes man. I so pleased for MP (Moana Pasifika) who have had tough start to year.
Neither am I over the top in surprise that they have cracked the win, I repeat what I said preseason, they a team almost built with a base of Hawkes Bay players, a pretty bloody good NPC team, added with some other good players like Aumua and Havili from Tasman, and throw in a few good old heads like Sekope Kefu and Leiliafano and you have a good base. I not thinking they will suddenly morph into a top team, but I guarantee teams will be a little wary of them from here on in.
I actually think a win will not only ramp up the support, but also (like the Drua) make them look a little more attractive as a team for players to look at joining.

^ I'm expecting Loss Bleus to towel them up on Tuesday night but the return match on Saturday could be a different story depending on who bangs up who the most!

Nice piece on the post-match emotions:

Spectacularly beautiful day in The Tron, perfect conditions for tonight's game (assuming CruSadists took 23-odd healthy players to the airport this morning :)), doubt there'll even be a dew factor.

It was definitely a fortunate call that's for sure.

Will be really disappointed not to end the half with at least one more try (and concede no further points, ofc).

Would the Blues not have a case for a penalty try at the maul? Coltman is called out for a penalty at the maul one he grabs Papalii. He clearly knows he's been penalised, as he reacts to the call, but remains engaged on Papalii regardless. Papalii is then ~2m out with a shot at the line but prevented from going for the line off the back of the maul by Coltman's continued, illegal, lingering.

Nock has been better than his usual.

FFS ref Fraser just missing so many little knockons etc

Blues going up thru the gears now though, flirting with 4th on occasion, poised to go to 5th in the 2nd half for extended periods of boom chucka-lucka hi-octane ethanol blitzkriegery.

A few too many moving parts for PT but should probably have been a YC.

Teams both look a little clunky to me, I know they haven't really trained last couple of weeks, and it shows a bit.
