well another performance of the same old same old. ewen is not delivering, the players are not delivering and while a lot of this is post match anger i don't see this going away easily and there is nowhere to hide any longer. we've been badly shown up by #1 and #2 and we are a long way off.

there are no excuses for brain snaps, falling off in contact, losing the ball in contact, fading away in the last 20 or aimless kicks. ewen talks about not having the balance right - it's his bloody job to ensure that happens, and the lack of consistency and skills across the 80 mins is his to manage.

we have about 4 or 5 players turn up every match and put in good solid performance and that's just not fucking good enough.

south africa played well and deserved to spank us tonight.
Really for 70 mins we were right in it and dropped our bundle. But seriously I thought we took it to them for the most part. But did you really expect us to win in SA?

Tough way to have that scoreline blow out at the end but the Boks deserved their win.

The Wallabies fronted up well and were well in it for most of the match. But not quite good enough as a team to win it.

We had no points in us from the 30 min mark
Couldn't create any pressure.
No kick pressure.
No set piece pressure.
No scoreboard pressure.
No attack pressure.
Defense pressure was nullified by penalties and began to diminish in the last 15min.

Dunno why people are complaining about Owens, to be honest. In the last 10, I watched us fall of tackles like dead flies, fail to provide support and spill the ball in contact. Adios, and deservedly so -- no matter how much fight we put up in the first 70 minutes.

Thought Owens went alright too. Was a pleasant game to watch with less whistle and rain. Score was definitely flattering to the Boks though.

Kuridrani went alright tonight and Burger was bloody immense off the bench. Hougaard was impressive too and wasn't a bad candidate for MoM. Quick and accurate service for most of the night.

Some of those grubbers were just heinous.

yep lets drop the bundle.....no one could possibly win a game in another country.....that's just flat out impossible. Lets just fold for the WC next year right now. I'm not a league fan but if you watched the Rabbitohs play the Roosters in the NRL semi last night that was some committed hard as hell defence. Thats what the Wallabies need, 15 brick shit houses holding the line and punishing the opposition.

Before.the game got out of hand and we were 6 behind with the ball my heart was thumping. It usually does. I measured my heart rate and it was 110bbm. My resting heart rate is 64bbm does anyone else have this problem? Haha. But seriously?

I don't normally venture over to this area of the forum, but I feel compelled to do so. *Warning, rant inbound*.

I am absolutely fuming at Nigel Owens' referring, though this outcome is hardly surprising. The astute amongst us knew that - as a NH ref - Owens would not be able to keep up with the pace of the game, and we also knew that he would always carry his anti-Aus. biases into the game.

Not a single penalty was awarded to the Wallabies in the 2nd half (or if one was it was extremely early on in the piece), and the last time Fox displayed the stat (around the 70th minute) South Africa had conceded 4 penalties, the Wallabies 11. It's clear to me that Nigel entered the 2nd half with some sort of agenda - he only refereed one side, and he was incredibly selective in the way he picked his vices.

Now the biased sceptic would have you believe that all this is the result of Australia's "discipline" or "lack thereof". This could not be further from the truth. Whilst I do not claim that the Wallabies were by any means saints, they were certainly no more sinful that South Africa. The amount of individual instances where they infringed at the ruck, or were offside, or used decoys as a mechanism to obstruct the defender, or "truck n trailered" are staggering, particularly in the period where they dominated. It's clear that - as usual - Nigel wanted to assist the opposition by ignoring their foibles, and penalising Australia's relatively innocuous misdemeanours.

In addition to all those smaller incidents, there were a few really crucial mistakes that - on balance - completely cost us the game. For example, his failure to award Phipps a try when there was absolutely no reason in the context of the play; or his failure to call Schalk's knock-on in the 72nd minute that lead to their try.

I'm sorry for the rant, I am just very angry.

tl;dr Nigel Owens is a shit ref, Wallabies were robbed.

We did that for most the game, but last 10 got blown away. Yes we have to win away too win the WC but we fell short this time in the last ten mintues. It's not all doom and gloom.

Be positive

Should venture over more often we like all opinions here. Phipps try he went back for a penalty so even if he awarded it, he was going to screw us Kepu really didn't make a difference to the play.. To me it was a try.

Dude,

Phipps didn't get the ball over the line. Your team lost the plot. Man up and accept it.

we HAVE to be able to win big games away if we have any hope of winning the world cup as you said.

but there's a difference between being positive and having your head stuck in the sand about where we fell short.

the wallabies are how many years now into our rebuilding phase? starting to sound like the old tahs 3 year plan.

I watched the game with no real bias for either team. I thought it was a cracker, for at least the first half. Owens was fine. The SA bench was far better and they made less mistakes overall. Hooper is not a captain, get a frickin' haircut and then you won't have spend half the game pushing the hair out of your eyes. #2 buzzcut should do it nicely.

so, we can all agree that the Wallabies were the moral winners and must be awarded the trophy for RWC 2015 right now?
