I think he is under the misapprehension that gloating is some form of humour.
Whatever rocks your world, Muttonbird. Karma is a bitch, best not to invoke its wrath.

On another matter. John Smit blames himself for missing the tackle on Nonu at the end, and so he should. There were two other occasions in the second half where any other international hooker would have got across in defense where it was obvious that he was just way off the pace.

I am a massive Smit fan and I hope he realizes when he is pushing it too far...like about right now.

I think we might just about have seen the last of John Smit in a Springbok jersey. As wonderful a player as he's been, he just doesn't have the engine to get around the paddock like he used to. A pity, as I am a big fan of the bloke as a player, captain and ambassador for the game.

I don't know if we have seen the last of Smit. Is there another hooker in the Bok squad apart from Chilliboy? I really don't rate Chilli has seemed out of his depth everytime I have seen him. Until B. Duplesis gets back I think Smit is there.

Is Du Plessis out of favour at the moment or injured?

Injured. Need some input from our Saffa friends for the inside goss on that one. Has been out for a while now.

I did say just about. Once du Plessis is fit again, he becomes an automatic selection IMHO.

He has played for the Sharks for the last two weeks and was Man of the Match yesterday in the top of the table clash when the Sharks beat Western Province.

The Battleship is steaming ahead. Pressure will be on Smit now.

Apparently du Plessis has been able to train for months now but just wasn't allowed to take contact to his neck post-op. A mate of mine in Durbs who goes to the same gym reckons he is in incredible shape.

In that case Smit's time is just about up and I would assume he will go the bench. Is there another hooker in the CC better than Chilliboy? I cannot believe that there isn't.

I thought Owens started off well, but then faded away. The pasting mighta had something to do with it.

It was conspicuous how he didn't issue any warnings, thereby not painting himself into a corner

I remain astounded how Mcaw yet again avoided a yellow for the professional foul under his own posts when an almost certain try would have resulted from quick Bok ball.

Tiaan Liebenberg, Adriaan Strauss, Gary Botha, Craig Burden, Deon Fourie. So two hookers that aren't even the #1 choices in their provinces. Funny that.

Bismarck battleship should be selected this weekend.

Anyone notice on Nonu's break leading up to the final try he was running with one boot?

Nigel Owens also got sandwiched earlier in the game, it was good to see both sides stop and help him out (and the NZ medics see to him). Both of these incidents got people saying "that's Rugby".

Its part of Nonu's new fashion... wearing two boots is so last year!

I missed that little fact on game night but just had a look at the recording. Well spotted. That is awesome.

There are many hookers better than Chilliboy:
Gary Botha of the Bulls
Anndries Strauss of the Cheetahs
Craig Burden of the Sharks

...and the best hooker for SA in the Super 14: the Stormers Tiaan Liebenberg who would have test caps had he been born somewhere else

SA is blessed with great hookers. Ralapele is like Januarie, a "fuck you" from PdV to the rest of the world.

The Bulls even play Badise Maku ahead of Ralepele...who is the Bulls third choice.

As for dropping Smit it will not happen. We need him to wake up to reality and step down.

Again it's the same scenario as with Mortlock, who should have stepped down earlier and didn't. Injury took care of that.

Really enjoyed the game, Aus will struggle to make the gain line against the Boks near that intensity
