So according to Steyn's old man SARU has not delivered their promises which, surprise surprise, they now deny.

Whilst I share Oom Paarl's enthusiasm when it comes to playing for the jersey the reality is that the sport is professional. If in any other sport an organisation is not delivering on its contractual obligations then the player is 100% in their rights to walk away.

Yeah and I get that Frans Steyn is a bit of a spoilt brat but what would any of us do if we pitch up for work and we're told that no actually we're not really paying you what we said we would?

It's too easy to accuse Frans of just chasing money. He can't be held accountable for the fact that French clubs are paying ridiculous numbers and that SARU stepped forward and offered him enough to move back to SA.

It's a free market. It's as simple as that.

In SA only a few are fortunate to have central contracts, players are in a few catogories and they get paid per test. If Saru havent paid him enough to his contract, then he and his vokken dad should go to some labour court and settle it. Which right minded rugby player will just drop his team in a week before a test, maybe he have Marinos as a agent, he did this to us Stormers supporters.

Sure but we don't know how long this has been going back and forward for. It could be weeks.

There is a part of me that says he should have kep quiet, played and then announced this after the Wales series. But he would not have performed at 100%

So I have to disagree. I don't want a guy in the jersey if we is not 100% committed and focused.

Anyway let's see what Jannie Serforntein can do against Roberts. This is the litmus test for his international career.

Serfontein will perform well. F. Steyn, Juan Smith and Duane Vermeulen are my favourite bok players of recent times. Too bad I feel Steyn's bok career may be over.

Being familiar with the Welsh, since we play them every second game, I expect their hybrid NH/SH game plan will stretch the Boks. But Warburton and Tipuric are big outs. I expect the Bok physicality up front to be the difference. Just so long as battleship turns up with his game head on, and not his loose cannon head that he wears occasionally.

Hasn't worn it this year actually but I guess he could always digress.

The Welsh always push us close. It will be close again.

Every tier one nation seems to have a legitimate claim to having the best 15.
True. Really the "best 15" is subjective as well depending on circumstances. If it were soaking wet Willie may not have looked that good but he performed well last year in the NH so who knows.

Dagg to me is one of the best for a while now. Halfpenny is decent. The rest have their days.

Lot easier than I thought.

Steenkamp shamed the Welsh front row.

We have gone back to the future and it looks pretty bright so far. Matfield and Bakkies did the business.

Good start for Serfontein which in my view was the most important thing in this match. He's up to it I reckon.

Morne Steyn is a different player if Fourie du Preez is around telling him what to do. Bet he wishes he could take Fourie back to France with him. Still think we should start Goosen until Lambie is back.

Ben Smith the best 15 on show so far this year although if Willie keeps going like this...

DeJarger had a great debut I thought. He might have a baby face but boy he is strong in contact. Great to see Matfield egg him on all the way.
