South Africa v Wales: Victor Matfield will captain Boks

Wales will face a host of familiar faces when they head to South Africa this week after the Springboks named e

seems some doubt that the other boks game (world xv) may not be telecast here, let's hope we at least get this one.

4. Bakkies Botha
5. Victor Matfield

Hey South Africa, 2011 called and want their rugby team back.
1st off, Etzebeth and PSdT are injured, this coupled with the fact that Bakkies has been the premier lock in Europe for a while now goes to show how little you know about NH rugby.

With regards to Victor, JdV ( the captain) is injured. So rather than cheapen the position by letting everybody have a run at the captaincy (As you Aussies have been cocking up) HM has decided to see where VM is at.

BB grabbed the MOTM award...

One win vs the 6N cellardwellers and all sorts of trolls come creeping out the woodwork.

PS: I highly doubt that the game was not offered to Foxsports.. I dont think it was picked up.

The hypocrisy.

You seem to creep out the woodwork primarily to gloat, especially when South Africa has been slighted in some way in the forum.

Sorry to interject ladies but let's get onto the match then.

What I took from the World XV game (I watched this afternoon and it was hard work staying awake) :

  • Ruan Pienaar is shit. Proper kak. Ahead of Reinach? Yeah right. Keep smoking that shit Mr Meyer.
  • Morne Steyn is just a little bit less shit but still shitty. God it's awful that Lambie is injured. Jut awful. We have to put up with this guy. No more please. Please Patrick get better son.
  • Fourie du Preez is still awesome. His speed to the ruck and clearing the ball still has no peer. It's quite incredible really. This guy is like what Microsoft Windows always wanted to be. Real plug and play.
  • Schalk Burger made no impact whatsoever. Bad idea. Test matches is not a place for people to play themselves into form. It is a bit of a joke that he gets selected ahead of Aussie Potgieter, Juan Smith or even Brussow on the bench. Move on. It has been great Schalk but no thanks.
  • JPP at 13 is worth another go.
  • Bakkies deserved his selection and carried his excellent form into the tests. Back to his best, possibly even better than I can ever remember. His work rate is fantastic and he seems to be ble to control his temper..
  • Matfield was passable but needs to get a lot better or ship out. I get why he is playing and why he is captain but I have my concerns over him making it through to the World Cup. In fact I think it is a shite idea. HE was outplayed by Juandre Kruger who should be the guy starting in the Bok 5 jersey based on last night's game. Kruger has been good for Racing. No idea why he is not in the Bok 30.
For Wales I would hop to see:
Willie, Habana, Mvovo
J Pietersen, F Steyn
Goosen (only because the one real Bok flyhalf is playing in the Junior World Cup, and the other one is injured and he can't start Steyn again surely)
Fourie Du Preez

Alberts, Vermeulen, Louw
Matfield (I wouldn't but Meyer will), Bakkies
Coenie, Battleship, Beast

Bench:
Brits, Jannie, Anybody but fat Gurthro Steenkamp, Flip, Coetzee, Juan de Jong, Hendricks, Ruan Pienaar.

No need for 10 cover on bench. Pienaar and F Steyn cover.

Then mix it up a little for second test.

But what do I know?

We have an abundance of props and we could do with some established second choice other than fat Guthro and out of position Coenie. I think Frans Malherbe did very well on the EOYT last time out on a terrible pitch and to top it off our current front 3 could do with a rest so I'd keep them but on the bench.

Unfortunately Frans is broken but I agree with you they should just stick with Coenie at LH. Frans is the future at TH prop, little doubt about that. He stood up huge last year.

South Africa's Juan de Jongh and Marnitz Boshoff out of Wales game

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/27772522

"South Africa will be without Juan de Jongh and Marnitz Boshoff for Saturday's first Test against Wales in Durban because of illness and injury.

Centre De Jongh, 26, was admitted to a Durban hospital on Sunday with a severe chest infection and is unlikely to be discharged before Wednesday.
Boshoff, 25, is out with a grade one ankle sprain suffered during training"

He has looked pretty broken recently. He has obvioulsy been playing through injury. If the body and mind aren't up to it, it is best he went and took the dollars.

Very weird. If Frans was injured and that is the sole reason then fine. But he is withdrawing from the boks and "assessing his future".

Sounds like he does not want to play test rugby anymore for whatever reason, but fatigue seems the most likely. He has battled through injury at the Sharks. Has Jake White played him into the ground?

The whole story will come out no doubt.
