Great stuff by Ireland in the 2nd half once Italian legs had gone.
Win in Paris next week now and the championship is theirs. Deservedly so too, even with the slip up at Twickenham they've been the standout side.

I was pretty nervous in the first half having made such a bold prediction for the winning margin. We played well but couldn't convert. Italy's back play is really improved and they looked dangerous when they moved the ball. Italy's try was taken fantastically.

Second half we went up through the gears and the bench were hungry for more scores and drove us on after the game was won. Good to see the newer caps getting amongst the tries.

I'll still be very nervous next week but at least there shouldn't be a need for a calculator. Win and the championship is ours. But an Ireland win in Paris is as rare as hens teeth.

Also should add that Owens had another excellent game, I love his refing style. He understands his most important role is as a facilitator to enable a free flowing game and it works really well when both sides play with that ambition.

Was worried after we left 2 or 3 tries on the pitch in the first half and Italy looking like they were able to open us open out wide. Les Kiss will have a busy week in training. We really put the foot down in the second half was great to see, thought giving BOD MOTM was a bit too much personally I would have gone for Heaslip or Toner.

Haven't watched the French game yet but I hear they were awful. POM should come straight back in as the only change for Ireland, we have a great chance to send BOD off with a medal.

Bit of a shame that he's our gift to the world and one which we can't share the benefits of

Or to put it another way and to settle your nerves. with France winning you lot need a turgid draw tonight. With the risk that whatever happens a bloody awful French outfit might sneak the whole thing.

I would be absolutely amazed if France turn you over next week. They were poor against Wales last time out, but today was embarrassing. They were totally shite to be honest ! How Scotland failed to win is a mystery.
I've never seen a more disjointed, lacklustre effort by a French side, sad to see.

It's very possible that France will win next week and become the worst team ever to win the 6Ns title.

Ireland should beat them, but should never puts any points on the board. If we perform we should have too much for them. If we don't then it's still possible we could win. But in a tight game it only takes one wayward pass or kick from us and some instinctive play from some of the quality French backs.

If we're smart and we keep hold of the ball we reduce the opportunities for that to happen. At the very least when we kick we need to put the ball off the field. Hopeful punts down field by the opposition are a better source for attacking opportunities than anything PSA equips his team with.

Both Scotland and England were very unlucky to lose against them. But to take luck out of the equation Ireland will need to be more than 2 scores ahead. That's a big ask for a team that hasn't won in Paris for so many years.

Just woke up suddenly from a dream in which the men of the west once again swept away the hordes of mordor. Then gnomes voice sounded in my ear saying that Last nights win by psa s gaggle takes the maths out of it for us. doesn't it? We win last two, we win irrespective of results elsewhere.

3 hour countdown until this match. Looking forward to this clash immensely. England with the home ground advantage playing the Welsh, who always seem to turn up just for the English. I have to say, though, I hope Wales belt the Poms at home, but my head tells me the "Orcs" will beat Wales convicingly, such is the form of the Orc pack, and the inconsistency of the Welsh team.

Ireland, with their rich vein of form in the 6 nations, couldn't win at Twickenham, and in 2012 when Wales beat England at home, they were red hot and still only won by 2 points (?), so not confident of a Wales victory. But I do not want to see the Poms win!

1 hr to go. No point trying to sleep. Will only wake up in a panic at 3. Dozed off earlier and dreamed of hibbard throwing in. Total nightmare. Will spend the hour on welsh language web site relearning what I have clearly long forgotten. Might need more than an hour mind
