Will be interesting to see Eastern Suburbs player points for this upcoming Colts season, noting that they have 5 listed in the above Aus 20s squad. Without mention of the 10 odd who represented the Tahs 19s in last year's Super Rugby 19s competition.

Can someone please explain the points system ?
How many points can you have in your squad etc.
How is it policed?
Colts 1 get 40 points , colts 2 get 35 points it only applies to players that take the field so unused subs don't count , clubs upload a copy of their players and their points value for everyone to see.

There are various categories players fall into from 20 points for a wallaby or all black to 2 points for a club player with various discounts available to determine their final points value.

The players category is determined as of 1/1/25 so any u20 rep players won't be in that category until the 2026 season

Any results from the weekend?

I think Hunter comfortably beat Two Blues (Two Blues will struggle in colts again this year)

- Dedicated Colts Account and results from weekend posted:
None

- Dedicated Colts Account but no results from the weekend posted:
Gordon
Norths

- Dedicated Colts Account but not updated recently:
Manly Marlins 29/8/23 last post
Southern Districts 09/03/20 last post

- Club account only and Colts trial results posted on instagram stories but now gone
SURFC 3s beat Easts 3s 19-12
SURFC 2s beat Easts 2s 35-14
SURFC 1s beat Easts 1s 51-38

- Club account only and no Colts trial updates that we have seen :
Easts Rugby
Eastwood Rugby
Hunter Wildfires
Randwick
Two Blues
Warringah Rats
West Harbour

To be fair, several clubs posted photos from their colts trials but no results.

Results for every game will become available with the first round starting on 05Apr.

This said, the disjointed nature of results communications feels like a wasted opportunity and something Sydney or NSW rugby could address relatively easy going forward to help build excitement for the season. Fully appreciate that some/all clubs may feel that trial results should not be conveyed as they are just trials.

More communications would presumably make the colts competition even more attractive for sponsors/broadcasters as well as engage Colts competition fans much earlier.

TBF that assumes a level of desire to work together for the greater good, and I've noticed SRU clubs are very much not that.

Further: NSW Rugby appears to have zero say in how SRU conducts itself.
