Shute Shield 2026

Also mums like it because it is safer than other codes. Easier to understand, too.

Except the offside rule. I still struggle with some of the calls I have seen in the few times I've watched the code.

As for "safer".... well you're less likely to get shoulder/arm injuries but some of the foot/ankle/knee/hip for a non-contact sport is horrific

Don't tell the mummies that!! As for offside, I would bet it doesn't apply in junior soccer.

I will jump in and suggest why this is "right". Correct me if I'm wrong but Eastwood have moved on their last two coaches (Batger and Telfer) mid-season weeks before the finals with both 1st Grade sides in the top 4 at the time. This is why spectatingspecialist feels it is "right". The players are voting with their feet by all reports across the entire club including many Oakhill boys going to play colts at Gordon next year.

I am an Eastwood supporter however it makes it mighty tough to support this club when the board and staff members constantly de-rail 1st Grade teams by putting their own interest ahead of the club.

If all reports are to be believed it will be a very interesting AGM...
Mate the Oakhill boys finishing school wouldn't have the first clue about the gossip club meanderings in here.

Talking about some of the second year colts for next year. From what I've heard from Eastwood this year and next years Oakhill group aren't worth much discussion.

Oh well. They better come play for the Renegades then ;)

Last night at TG Millner was an interesting evening where these screenshots from the Eastwood group chats were discussed.

They include a message from a player saying "they don't want us here". Allegedly following sending this the General Manager Bec Watson deleted his message and removed him from the group without even talking to him then proceeded to send the message (other screenshots) to the group.

Chatting last night this denial from the club has agitated the Pasifika community even more as according to some of the players involved the club has apologised for these comments made by parts of the Eastwood board.

As a supporter of the club I hope that action is taken against those involved as they were very abhorrent comments.

That's a very corporate PR response by the GM. "I haven't heard any views like those that have been suggested" might be a technically true statement, but it's hardly going to smooth things over.
