Shute Shield 2022

Knuckles

I think Eastwood didn't look too gassed after the game so the momentum may be a good thing into next week's final vs Uni.
Gordon snatching a win at the death over Randwick sets up a tantalising semi vs Norths - THAT would be a game worth going to - when was the last time the old enemies faced each other in a semi-final? that will be epic. Any idea where the semis will be held?
Norths by 13+

Double header at Rat Park on Sunday afternoon. About 1.30 and 3.30.

Hard to go past the fresh teams Uni and Norths this week. Eastwood have a big opportunity with some Super Rugby quality in their team. Edmed a big factor in whether they can get across the line.
Gordon though busted have some history in winning finals footy and that core group of players still around from the 2020 team will ensure they are in it at the end of the game.

Getting Tom Murphy back (on the bench) will be a big boost for the Woodies. He has a tendency to make very big plays when they really count. (Assuming he is fit enough!)

Woods should win easily with all there super rugby contracted players surely. Interesting however the woods coach had already applied for a uni coaching position

Easily? Our only regular Super Rugby players are Edmed and Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase).

Poor Tane - he looked devastated as soon as it came off the boot. I really like the guy - and maybe events like this are part of turning him into a top shelf flyhalf.
Those types of things haunt you for a long time.

Uni…. what a crap way to play rugby…put up the bomb …
Wasn't much of a spectacular but Woods did themselves no favours. Sometimes you've got to do what it takes. Got to convert your chances. Woodies had plenty

Norths were slow, predictable and can’t kick.

Look a well drilled team with zero X Factor. Well done Gordon. Should be a great GF

Gordon to win 24/16

Yes.. good kid . Two long range penalty goal attempts and a field goal attempt all missed inside the last 10 minutes…

He missed another chance in the first half, too. Someone who was at the game posted on Facebook that they had a two man overlap on the left when the field goal attempt was made. Grrrrr.
