Good to see Jeremy Paul playing abit of 4th Grade for Penrith!

Also good to see under NSW u20s team mates Harrison Goddard (Randwick) and Ed Craig (Eastwood) start in 2s and get some good time off the bench in 1st grade as well.

Goddard was subbed off in second half of 2s , and got about 20 mins at the end of 1s. Craig played a full game in 2s and went on with 35 or so to go in second half of 1s, when Lagudi came off injured (moved Needs from hooker to prop, and Craig in at hooker).

I thought both boys looked pretty much at home in both 2s and 1s. The 20s squad prep has obviously been good for them.

MACCA

Ron Walden (29)
Geez MACCA, might have gone the earlier crow there hey mate?
Wicks looking pretty good, and were able to do something the Marlins couldn't in a big game- knock off the Woods!
Loving the Shute Shield this year, was stoked to see the Pirates knock off Sydney Uni AKA Buildcorp AKA the students AKA The Corporation on the weekend too.

Hi O/T - am also loving the SS - Wicks are going well however Eastwood have wily coaches and are more likely to lose at the start of the season than the end - they had about 5 players out on the weekend. I think all the top teams have players coming back - can you imagine the Marlins with Ed Gower, Kotoni Ale & Cliffy Palu in the team....cant see Wicks getting the same uplift

Here's a great story.

In Round 2 MTB's Colts travelled to Kierle Park to play MMM. Anyway, one of colts boys lost his GoPro camera somewhere between leaving home at Campbelltown and leaving Kierle Park at the end of the day as it was passed around a few of his team mates during the course of the day and went missing.

One of the MMM Mums contacted me via email last week and posted it back. It also included a $5 note as she said that was found with the camera. The player is very grateful, as is the club, that the lady in question took the time and trouble to post it back.

Well done and thankyou.

Continuing on as the worst tipper in Australia.... This weekends thoughts:

Souths to pinch a victory over Eastwood - 1-3 points. Souths have a very strong looking team this weekend. Eastwood, although good, have still been patchy this year.

Gordon to stun Easts at home. Although i think Gordon are pretty poor this year, I think Easts are due a loss. And will underestimate Gordon.

Manly to beat Randwick this week in Wicks first loss of the season. I think they have been amazing so far, but with lots of young fellas, they may be out-smarted by a wiser team.

Norths to beat Parramatta comfortably. Norths are just very hard to beat at home.

Uni to beat Warringah - neither side have been on fire this season. But i really like the 2 Christians playing at the back. And they will provide a nice spark. Its good to see Holmes back so this could be close.

Wests to beat Penrith by 15. Wests stunned the whole of shute shield last week by smashing my boys and they played well and deserved it. Will the TV game get those players over thinking and trying too much to look good? Riff have nothing to lose so will just have a crack.

A rugby lunch makes for a great afternoon, and club rugby is a great cause.

I would love to arrange a GAGR table and finally meet a number of the guys that I've enjoyed good banter with over the years.

Speakers are Comedian Darren Carr, and all black legend Murray Mexted.

Drop me a private message #marlins

Wrong thread I know, but I see the Sydney Stars have merged (?) with the Country Eagles. Is this the first chink in the armour of the NRC? The resulting team (Uni, Easts, Wicks, Country) would seem to have too many class players with many to miss out, especially those who are currently based in the country areas. Where does this leave the Balmain ;) ?

#epic - great game and effort from both teams.
Full 80 and some, starting 15 finished, no reserves, tight as one.

Yeah - heard the Boom Boom from the car park.

#tight.

Got to endorse that - one of those contests regardless of the level it is played which define sport not the business of it. No quarter asked or given . Wicks up by 3 after breaking the 17-17 deadlock with a drop goal and just over a minute to go on a dodgy Coogee Oval clock (I reckon it got mentioned more often in the afternoon by the ground announcer than the scorers, sponsors and kiosk contents combined) . Marlins grab game after the bell with a try in corner. Expansive game in wet conditions . Take a bow both sides for playing with the passion absent from another recently made up national rugby competition. Love it
