saying that I think Randwick need some back-rowers - was not impressed with the guys they had - unless there are a heap of injuries to their 1st grade back row?

Howitz (spelling may be wrong) the no.10 for the Wicks - future Wallabies 10?

The No 8 was their captain so he seems pretty permanent and they lost their 6 on the first tackle of the day.
I don't get the Horwitz man love.

La la was solid and made some really good hits and a couple of good runs. He also made some handling errors. Figg was good, Baldwin has been on the bench for gen blue and did his job well enough without being outstanding. Johnson who came off the bench played 10 minutes and forced two turn overs. Bit rough to bag a backrow of a team that wins by 20 with four tries

Watched the Easts V Randwick game - Easts looked good in phases - Lala Lam played really well - better than anything I saw him do last year, there big no.8 needs to get abit more aggression, run abit harder, use his weight more - def need some front rowers - saying that I think Randwick need some back-rowers - was not impressed with the guys they had - unless there are a heap of injuries to their 1st grade back row?

I see that the lower grades were postponed out in parramatta - any particular reason?
There were 4 Grade and 2 Colts matches scheduled to held on two fields. The council closed the outer field so the third and fourth grade fixtures were postponed until April 6 I believe.

Round 2 will be tougher to tip

West Harbour v Penrith
Gordon v Eastwood
Randwick v Northern Suburbs
Southern Districts v Warringah
Parramatta v Manly
Eastern Suburbs v Sydney University

With all the confidence of someone who tipped 2 in the last SupeRugby round, I'm tipping Pirates, Woodies, Norths, Hobbits, MMM, and The Corporation.

Wicks vs Norths should show if the form the Wicks 2014 showed against the Beasties is fair dinkum or not.

Look fair enough you have a crack at the guy for leaving your club etc but there is a line you draw as a spectator in regards to banter. Racially abusing someone or degrading family members is certainly not on. That sort of behaviour should be reported.

To Tony Abbott. Not much use doing that!

Reported. Maybe. Corrected from within the Club would be more effective. Surely someone with a bit of courage and character could say - "hang on fellas. That's not on." Club culture is formed from within the club.

Spot on @Couldabeen.
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)

There should be enough courageous men and women around the buffoons hurling this sort of abuse to shut it down pretty quickly. Failing that the Club Administration should investigate and act swiftly. It is not as if there are 30000 spectators to question about what they know of the source of the abuse.

La La did about 6 things (three good hits and three good runs). The rest of the time he walks around the field. Should play him in the tight five and force him to work throughout the game. I thought the Randwick back row were superior to Easts. Higher work rate and more pressure a the breakdown. Easts front row is not up to scratch in the scrums. The Randwick number 15 had a great game.

Tone down the moral outrage Big Arse.
Before you criticise those that were there, that did nothing.
Please tell me what what the inappropriate behaviour was.
I spoke to many people that were there yesterday, and not one person has a clue as to what was said to Harvey.
Let alone who might have said it.

A generic rant ILTW directed at those "good men that do nothing" - - anywhere, at any good sports venue. Along with the Harvey issue/non-issue, there is the report from the Wicks v Beasts game as well.

Now Tom Carter can ramp things up, but there was some stuff going on last year from the manly hill that was pretty promptly dealt with by MMM.

The source of most spectator abuse is often brown in colour and liquid in nature.

The last thing we need is for nanny state authorities to step in and start banning beer at Shute Shield games.

The wowser PC Fun Police will jump at the first opportunity to stop the masses quietly enjoying a full strength beer or a chardy at the Shute Shields ovals on the back of some fools getting pissed and making fools of themselves, and disgracing their clubs.

Good men tolerate "leave our flies alone, you pommie bastard".
Do they tolerate "Look out you pommie bastard, we're gonna break your bloody arm"?

Where is the 8 from? Never seen him before...

They def need some more power, bulk and aggression in the loose forwards...

The great thing about Manly's win yesterday is that built on forward power though it was there is even more speed and class to return to put the pressure on for backline positions - Woodhouse (arguably Marlins' best last season), Yarrington, a very motivated Daruda (why did he bother with Norths? ) and Reti. Maximum bonus points in all grades kept the Souths verandah unusually quiet.

Worry from game is potentially 2 suspensions for lifting tackles - not a good look.

Granville next week and two of the toughest away trips down nice and early

Uni usually beats the emus by 70 plus, both teams were in it at oranges - any feed back on that game.
Penrith have improved. They have some talented players and they were pumped. For Penrith I noticed 1,3,6,11,14,15 doing good things. Fitness and discipline got them in the 2nd half.
Uni - believe it or not - have some serious rebuilding to do. All those Super franchise Uni players are obviously not playing for Uni. Maybe for the Sydney Coves. Coach Malone and team have work to do bringing players up to 1st Grade standard playing the style of Rugby Uni are best at - ball in hand, good set piece and structure. Next week will give a better picture.
Tom Carter played again this week, Copped heaps from the sidelines.

Great forward power, and Souths didn't gave as weak pack either.
Gee didn't Alex Northam show some real speed in twos as well.
Imagine if Jordy, Eddie, Cadreyn, Jones, were sitting on the bench.
Sef, and Malie were tight in the centres.

Daruda looked very fit yesterday, do you know why he didn't play?
So Yarrington is coming back?
With Hooper, Woodhouse, Northam, Yarrington, there is some speed in the outside backs.

Tummy always cops heaps, and gives it to, and in some cases I think both sides enjoy the banter. He is loyal though and also leaves it on the pitch, and it is fair to say that earns him a lot of respect.

I'm sure people know when it goes to far though, don't take it there as the game is bigger than that.
