Perrett, Batger and McCaffery have all had opportunities and have not been able to convert them. Cam Mitchell has been injured a lot with serious leg injuries. Gillespie is still young for a prop and I would assume has not been discarded yet. IMO, Jarred Barry needs to fix his fitness and body fat levels so that he looks like a professional athlete - also is he tall enough for lock or is he fast enough for back row at S15?

Roberts, Dyer and Winton have all had opportunities and as yet, have not been able to convert them. Talakai is still young and also still developing his game. English may be the exception and he has had a fantastic season, so perhaps the Rebels got this right. Stirzacker is as yet unpoven IMO but he is also fortunate to be a half back, a position where 15 of them are required across the franchises and the country's depth is not great.

Eastwood might have won 7 in a row over the last 3 years but Uni have still won the comp in 2 of those 3 years and lost to Eastwood in extra time in the other.

Jared Barry is a great club player but his body shape and fitness levels need a lot of work to reach the next level. In comparison Liam Winton has the work rate level and versatility in the pack which saw him rewarded during the Lions series.

I made the mistake of dismissing Barry when he was at Gordon as "not looking like a rugby player" ie fat and slow. However, every time I see him play since he moved to Eastwood he puts the lie to that perception. He continues to surprise me with his mobility, strength and work rate. And he's so bloody hard to tackle!

Useful players at 12 and 15 also!!!

It's going to be very interesting from here on in.
After the jaunt to Argentina we're going to see much stronger teams for Uni, Manly and Souths in particular for the final round and then the playoffs.

The presence of Glen Christini will be missed, but by all accounts a die has been cast, and his positive influence will linger well past his physical presence.

It is always good to hear of a Coach leaving on their terms, and not being sacked as a scapegoat, as happens all too often in sport.

An open letter to the Two Blues:

Dear Two Blues,

You have lost a great coach. The Chair Umpire has called Fault 1.

Do whatever is necessary to hang on to your GM. The club can not afford a Double Fault Call from the Chair Umpire.

Glen Christini appears to have been a truly transformational coach. Hopefully his achievements thus far will be sustainable. Good luck to Gerrard Fasavulu. We need outstanding coaches at the level where player development in this country really occurs.

Sad to see Christini go, he did much to pull Parra out of the death spiral they appeared to be in. I've said before that I've always had a soft spot for the 2Blues and hope they can kick on from here and take it right up to the top sides.
