Oh the coach is first class no question. The beauty is, we will see soon enough!

Who have Warringah recruited in the forwards?
I think you should worry about your own recruitment BellyTwoBlues. Word has it that players are unhappy with the club. Top players getting better offers elsewhere and a few other players have been said to say that Coach Christini lacks the social skills with players unless wanting something and doesn't give feedback on performances. Sponsors are also a worry whereas they don't get much recognition sponsoring Parra and hardly receive any gratitude. I would know as I did play for parra and have mates whom I won't name still there who are unhappy looking at options elsewhere.

Well - I have been a keen observer of these forums and have enjoyed the opinions contained here. I couldn't let this one slide without coming on board as I seriously doubt the accuracy of the above. Undoubtably I have got the "man management" side of things wrong from time to time and will do so again as every situation is different. And I do want something (all the time) and that is players playing to their best as often as possible, better for everyone that way.

Now laterell, I am sure you have been a raging success at whatever club you went to. I would love to have a coffee and learn something from your views - a fantastic opportunity for me to grow as a coach. I am sure you are willing to reveal your real self in a private message to me - I look forward to hearing from you.

In the meantime - please refrain from using my name in posts. As for the other side of things re sponsorship etc, although I have little to do with that side of things we are going Ok and continuing to grow.

One more thing - players are always getting better offers to go elsewhere and the retention of talent is a major challenge given we can not match offers from other clubs. The fact that we are continuing to grow speaks for our culture and inner strength and character of the players who have remained with Parra.

Welcome to the forums of the Worlds Premier Rugby Web Site, Coach C.

Hopefully not all contributions are as bad as that which has forced you to "uncloak".

How is the 2 Blues preseason going?

Are the numbers looking good in colts?

Latrell, I merely asked the question of who the Rats have recruited in the forwards. We rate the Rats, they play with pace and width and have a very good backline capable of scoring from anywhere. And we've never kept that opinion a secret. As you would know I spent a bit of time there, and made a lot of friends and met people I have a lot of respect for. So I would love it to see them have some success. Just not as much as Parra. :)

As for our recruitment..............it's going just fine thanks. It's exactly where we want it to be.

As for top players getting better offers elsewhere. This is a unique situation we find ourselves in. We're the only club in the comp in this situation of course!

As for Glen's social skills. Isn't it funny how the only people that make that accusation are lower graders? Lord knows, I would have been a Wallaby legend if my 3rd grade coach had bothered to listen to me. He held me back I tell ya!

Sponsors - always an issue we monitor. It's the nature of the competition we're in with other codes, other clubs and the built in excuse that the GFC or the threat of another one provides. But again, we're the only club in the comp in this predicament.

You did play for Parra hey. I assume this was prior to the improvement we have shown in the last 2 years! ;)

Pre season going well, the new guys are training hard in an effort to earn their opportunity and fitness levels should be a lot better this season. Whilst I won't go into detail about the new guys we have a bit more depth this year. Not sure if we are stronger in terms of talent yet - but depth will help us when injury etc kicks in.

As for colts, they start up next week (they did an extra week pre christmas) the signs are good with over 40 attending every session pre Christmas. What we do have this time around is a quality program with good coaches etc on board. We view our colts program as critical to establishing Parra consistently at the top end of the rugby landscape.

This is all hearsay to me so thanks for clearing it up. There must be a good vibe at Parra as a few players have turned down good offers from other clubs to stay at Parra.
As for 3rd graders, they should be looked after as well. Look at Ollie Atkins. Chris Alcock and Cadern Neville, players who started from the bottom and are now on super rugby contracts.

I don't think Warringah will do that well this year. Sure, Harvey has come over, but I hear alot of players are not happy that he is getting paid such a large amount and they are getting nothing. Also, same players don't have much condidence in Harris as a coach. Alot were surprised he got the gig last year again, and now he has it again. Solid player, but a coach? They would rather have him start in lower grades and get more experience. Young guys love him, as they play 1st grade, but these same players don't seem to know what to do on a field. But Harris has been earmarked for higher honours with Cam Blades and Wade Kelly by new NSW top coach. Very interesting.

Interesting thoughts... Harvey wouldn't be getting a HUGE amount of money because warringah simply don't have the money to pay... They don't get get takings & the rest due to the council taking it all so the only real source of income is sponsorship....

I also know there's plenty of people happy with Sammy Harris coaching. Fresh ideas & a good football brain have stood him well so far, he's just had a very young group of guys to coach

I for one am a fan of Warringah, their ability to shift the momentum of a game is second to none. They play with width and have pace to burn, the old saying of "give them an inch and they take a mile" is certainly relevant for the Rats.

I won't comment on Harvey except some interesting timing on his change of club. As far as Warringahs age of players goes I don't think they were younger than many 1st grade sides. Just seems to be the way the games going. Gordon regularly laid claim to the youngest side although I think Parra had them on average age a couple of times. It was not unusual for our tight five to have an oldest member with the ripe old age of 21. Even Uni had a very youthful look to them from time to time. I for one am definitely looking forward to the majority of our squad returning in 2013 a year older and wiser. Add in a couple of our new boys with some valuable experience and the mix may be getting closer to the mark. There is no substitute for experiential learning, just cant get it from training.

I think that it is admirable that Coach Christini has come onto our forum to defend himself.

And thus far his results speak for themselves.
.

Makes me wonder who else is hiding under a pseudonym on this forum and who really knows what's going on and could end all the speculation and rumours by "coming out"!
Well done Glen (assuming it is really you)!
I must admit that I'm always bemused by the level of secrecy and lack of communication of various Shute Shield clubs to their supporters and the public in general. We all complain about the lack of coverage in the media but looking at the majority of club websites the level of information provided is very poor (with a few exceptions).

I agree - and yes, its really me. I am happy to end speculation as much as I am able although will probably not discuss individuals as its not fair on them.

I am sure there are plenty hiding here - and just as many agenda's going on. But all good fun at the end of the day. Everyones entitled to opinion but I think it's only fair if you going to launch personal attacks then you should be strong enough to at least reveal your true self.

I also agree with the lack of information around - there are some genuine supporters out there who would love to know what is going on at the club they support. After all it is these people all clubs want to pay to come and watch their side play come april.

From what I have seen of Glen (Christini) I am a big fan - what he did with Qbn and Vikings in Canberra was fantastic and then taking Para pretty much from the dead into the finals of the shute shield is fantastic - and honestly would like to see him at a higher level of rugby within one of the super rugby teams - Para are an exciting rugby team to watch and from not really seeing much of them before last season I am truely a fan now.

Thanls No8, your support is appreciated in this part of Sydney.

Imagine what a great forum this could be if we had a good handful of S.S coaches on here mixing with those who are way smarter than us. C'mon, I know you're out there;).

Seconded - many guys I know from Canberra that have played under Glen Christini across Queanbeyan and Tuggeranong (and have even followed him up north) rate him very highly. The vastly improved culture and results of all three clubs is testament to this. Holistic approach very much appreciated by players, coaches, boards and volunteers alike.

Gents, come across some hearsay myself today and I hope it is just that. Hoping someone here may know something about it. I heard West Harbour were losing concord as their home ground - would be a massive blow for rugby union to lose the ground off the Shute Shield landscape. Anyone out there know?

Im following The EMUs on Facebook and via their updates the coach and staff there seem to be very committed and passionate about their cause. Does anyone know if they have picked up any players to boot?

The Emus are always passionate about their cause but they need experience in coaching ranks and assistance from NSW Rugby which just doesn't happen. When have you seen a waratah or brumby play for penrith? Liam Winton went to Uni and now Richard Aho at randwick with a few other 1st graders. Is Jason Peseta still there or has he moved on to another club?

That is huge, hope it's only smoke.
