They should be called as Wallabies Sevens in order to increase the Wallabies/RA marketing. In this way (Different nicknames) you are dividing forces in marketing terms.

Just like other Unions like All Blacks Sevens or Pumas Sevens. The NZRU Sevens team used to call themselves as New Zealand Sevens but after all the Olympic things they changed for marketing reasons

Where does Dietrich Roche (sp?) play in 15s? I reckon he’d be a gun at 10. Anyone seen him play 15s?

HSBC 7's "Best Seven Legs" Points

119 South Africa
112 Australia
110 Argentina
104 Fiji

74* NZ (pro-rated: actual Points 58 from four Legs)

(Happy to be corrected wrt NZ but that's my understanding of how the pro-rating works).

If Australia were to win LA they'd finish on 121; taking out SA's next-worst result drops them to 109 pre-LA so they'd need to make the SF to overtake.

* Edit: had another look,at my maths & think I've been too generous wrt NZ

Actual points 58 + 2/7 loading = 74

Where are you getting the pro-rating from? I've only seen it mentioned for the distribution of Great Britain's points and as part of the sanctions applied to the Russian women's team, not for any of the Men's or Women's sides that missed tournaments.

I too am confused by this pro-rata score, haven’t seen anything to suggest that’s occurring.

Hardest thing is for years watching all the sevens on foxtel is no longer having it (Stan with rugby) and the one thing Stan does not have is sevens. Trying to watch matches on you tube does not cut It for me. Come on Stan get the sevens rights.

beIN own the rights until 2023, and beIN have a deal to provide content through Foxtel/Kayo. I think Fetch also provide BeIN.

Stan’s best bet of getting 7s at this stage is securing the beIN catalogue when it comes available next. I don’t think it fits the Stan model though.

Yeh which means no easy access to sevens content for me as I have fetch but not beIN as part of subscription and ain’t going to pay for a subscription just to get sevens content. Occasional watching of highlights or longer form of games on YouTube it is then.

Happy to be proven wrong but how else do NZ women get 57 points from two Legs? Only happens if they get a 50% points boost on the 2/4 Legs they played (remembering that the women's Table is "best four of six Legs"). It follows that the men would get a points boost for their 5/7. Agree that it should be explicitly stated on the Tables & frustrating/ confusing that it's not.
