Potter and Williams:

Well spoken blokes. Excited for Potter, go well.

Really liking Williams. Come from nowhere really. Crazy to think recently we had real issues at lock and now we are leaving blokes like Swain and Rodda at home.

It is a little strange to see the reaction of the Wallabies given that Schmidt has surely been through it all many times before. Weird.
While not unprecedented this isn't exactly regular Scottish weather either. Even the Scottish setup won't have been through this many times before (hence the chaos).

Just watched (re-watched, actually) the '84 Grand Slam vid. I remember these games from the time, and a lot of what is said in that video regarding the cohesion, focus, application and approach to how they would play rings a little true with the current team / squad.
Should the current crop go on and do the same, it would be possibly an even bigger story. It's a bloody hard thing to do.The growth and progress with this squad under Schmidt has been wonderful to see. We need to appreciate that.
Geez, that '84 team was good. Some all-time greats in there. And what a pack.
The 84 team would slaughter our current team. Dropping Ella out might give the current team some chance, but remember that pack did something no one has done before or since - score a scrum pushover try against a Wales pack. An eighties Welsh pack, not the current Welsh pack. I highly recommend the video. There's a bit too much verbiage and talk, but the rugby skills on display were sublime.

Hawko, it truly was an amazing team in 84. That said improvement has been continuous. If you rate the two teams compared to the rest of the world the 84 team is a million miles ahead. BUT put the two teams at their peak on the same paddock and imvho the current crop would completely dominate. Including the scrum.
