Christy’s rumours:
- Potter to debut and start on wing in place of Jorgensen who shifts to bench
- Sua'ali'i starts at 12
- Gordon replaces White at 9
- Tizzano apparently in at 7 to replace McReight..

I've already answered this exact question
No, you said refs are now physicists who can gauge impact and velocity on the spot and make different decisions based on that

Last year it was initial contact, now it’s force. What arbitrary differentiator will they come up with for next year?

Doran doesn't actually say JAS to 12, more generally that he returns to partner Ikitau with Kerevi out. I'd expect 12 Ikitau 13 JAS, to repeat their positions together last time. Tizzano is interesting if we presume that he'll be with Valetini and Wilson... and Skelton at #5. It suggests that Schmidt sees a lot of strength and flexibility in that back row.

Don't hate it. I know fuck all about potter but im gonna trust schmidt at this point - he seems to have a decent eye for talent. Also im not mad if he wants to rest mcreight for tizzano. Tizzano did prove that he's more than up to the task. One thing i do like about joe is that he finds a way for everyone in the squad a run at some point. That's gotta be good for keeping moral high / everyone 100% invested.

Ill definitely change my tune if this backfires Spectacularly

Yeah JAS/Ikitau is a good combo.

There seems to be some flexibility in that row, but not sure on Tizzano starting

Don’t remember ever saying that? Maybe you should go back and re-read what I said, and shelve the unnecessarily combative attitude for the night. You’ll probably find we agree on what should have happened with the Nic White hit.

Wasnt that long ago everyone was singing Tizzano's praises... didnt he have the best defensive stats in TRC or close to?

If McReight needs a rest then im all for it. The bloke is a workhorse and certainly seemed up to it earlier in the year. Great for continuing to build depth.

Bit of mongrel about him too. Be interesting to interrogate stats around dominant tackles. My gut feel is that this is where Tizzano has one over Frase and up against Scotland could be useful

As a bit of a left field interpretation it the article doesn't suggest that McReight is being rested, only that Schmidt is looking to counter the Scots' breakdown dominance - the McZanno maybe?

The biggest downside by bringing someone else in is taking away the cohesion that Wilson and Mcreight have after years of playing together.
We definitely lose a bit in attack unquestionably. But scoring points doesnt seem to be an issue for us atm. Our defence is more likely to be our downfall agsinst scotland. Fraser is clearly a better player than tizanno but you might give tizanno a slight edge as just a per defensive player.

I doubt its a strategic change (i assume they are just managing mcrieghts workload) but could be a game where tizannos strengths come in handy.
