PG Carter, 11-7. Scots starting to fall off tackles, this could get ugly if AB handling & retention gets back to where it should be. Winning the occasional lineout would also help. 11-10 coming up.
Les Kiss has reinforced the Irish defence; Matt Taylor has done the same at Scotland. The fact that the ABs haven't scored 20+ points and wrapped the game up by half time is significant.
How did Australian rugby let these guys slip through the cracks?
Scotland really letting this one slip. NZ have been poor in the first half but they're ahead. God help Scotland if the ABs click for 10-15 minutes.
This game is real chance for Scotland but they need to start the 2nd half well and get themselves a few scores ahead. They'll have to be wary of an early try from NZ in the 2nd half, they score so often in the first few minutes of the second 40. They're switched on right from the restart while other teams' heads are still in the changing room.
Carter playing so poorly for the ABs is really keeping Scotland in touch. But so often against NZ being in touch is just another way of saying one mistake away from being 2 scores behind and chasing the game.
Why won't Scotland kick the ball away when appropriate? I get trying to run the ball, but jesus you don't run from every which way in 15's. If they were smarter they could be pinning the AB's in their half or better rather than playing most of the game in their own one.
