Does anyone know is Hernandez will play for the Sharks?

How is Pretorius going after his season on the sidelines at the Force?

No Hernandez had a one year contract, not renewed.

Petooors came off the bench a few time and started once or twice. Seemed steady enough. He'll struggle to get a S15 contract with the Sharks though.

Hernandez is back in Paris now, but playing for Racing Metro 92, no more for Stade Français (pink jersey)

Thanks for the info guys.

Those two injuries really screwed up last season for both of their teams. I thought both of them were great recruits, but unfortunately they never really got to show what they could do.

(As the official G&GR boat person) I suggested to the Mods that we have a thread for all 3 countries final S 15 squads. You know, to see who your team will play next year and other meaningless activities.

I suspect one or two people may have a vague interest to know what the squads look like.

Stormers still on leave. Sharks still on leave, Lions still on leave.

Heard last night the Stormers will contract 35 players for the S15.

At least it shows the Tahs aren't the only ones to rate him.

It would be great to see the Lions and Cheetahs lift this year and put in a middle of the table performance. Honestly, it's getting ridiculous.

Myself expect the conferense home and away derbies will help the Tin Ears and Lions no end. When on song they dont drop them that easy sepcially against the SA big 3. Expecting the Sharks to be a bit stronger, the Stormers will go on where they end off last year and the Brutes to be their normal force. Stormers add CJ vd Linde to an already settled squad. Sharks will have JL Potgieter and Bosman.

Don't get it though. He played for Griquas in the CC and if there is a lock forward who is slower around the park I have not seen him.

As for them finishing higher? Every years I've had hope that the Cheetahs would finish mid table and they end up falling to pieces as the season wears on.

The problem is simple. With their best players they can beat anybody. As soon as they have some injuries there just isnlt any depth. They already tend to have journeymen in the first 22 so it someone goes down it's usually an untested youngster taking their place and they seem to struggle for the most part.

No idea what the Lions will serve up. Yes there is a revival under Mitch but there have been many a Super rugby season where the Lions did well in the Currie Cup and then lost all their Super games.

Anything above bottom 5 will be great for both these teams.

Blou remember its conferense in the S15. Meaning the Tin Ears and Lions will play more home matches and they aint easy to beat at home.
My Tin Ear match 22:
15. Daniller, 14. Burger, 13. Ebersohn, 12. Strauss, 11. Nokwe
10. Ebersohn, 9. Pretorius

8. Johnson
7. Smith, 6. Brussouw
5. Steenkamp, 4. Muller
3. Nel, 2. Strauss, 1. Oosthuizen

Bench: 16. Barnes, 17. Caldo, 18. Vermeulen, 19. van der Walt
20. de Bruyn, 21. Olivier, 22. Viljoen

Back up Players:
Hookers: Skipper Badenhorst
Props: Kevin Stevens, Marcel van der Merwe
Locks: Hendrik Roodt, Francois Uys, Izak van der Westhuizen
Loosies: Kabamba Floors, Devon Raubenheimer, Frans Viljoen, Johan Wessels
Fullbacks: Riaan Viljoen, Hennie Daniller, Riaan Smit
Wings: Fabian Juries, Philip Snyman
Centers: Barry Geel, Morgan Newman, Corné Uys, Wilmaure Louw
Flyhalves: Louis Strydom
Scrumhalves: Piet van Zyl

My real concern from the start in this format is that the teams dont play the same oppo in the combo. This will mean an new strategy and planning have to go into it.

I see the same teams playing each other twice on that list and I already dislike the schedule. That's just too much of the same.

I still don't get this sentiment. Must be because I'm an Australian.

PB have the Lions finalised their squad?

I notice they recently signed Rory Kockett, there have been rumours that they were looking at signing John Smit, The Beast and Frans Steyn. Did any of this happen?

I heard that the Beast signed with the Lions even though he is currently contracted to the Sharks - is this true?

I have addressed this to Paarlbok but if anyone else knows I would be interested to hear.

The Lions S15 squad will be finalised within the next few days. Rumours at the moment and it look like the Beast and John Smith wont go to the Lions but it look like Butch James will start there only from May when the NH season ends and I do know they have Andre Pretorius back and have signed the Kiwi James Kamana. Will update you as soon as the squad is announced.
