not to mention the best win/loss ration of any team in almost any sport in history, the no.1 world ranking, the Tri-Nations, the Bledisloe (for the past 8 years is it?), and the general consensus of being the best rugby team in the world....

....yeah, it's real tough winning that way.....

:D

None of which are the World Cup.

Anyways, will move on.

Sixty percent possession is what staggers me about those stats and the way the wider squad stood up tonight certainly adds a huge amount of kudos to this team, for me anyway.
Yea ref was crap but was split across the two halves so his crapness balanced out in the end.

If the reason to not play neutral refs is to to award the best will get the whistle WTF is he doing with it in his hand.

Had a laugh when he got bowled over twice in quick succession.
Dam this beer tastes great.

Paarl - you should be stoked fella, that was a real victory for your lot. We've had some stoushes in the past over Schalk, but he had a blinder tonight, seems like a great leader and also a likable fella from the interviews. Anyway, enjoy your beers tonight - well earned.
Cheers Boet, sitting at work and will do tonite! Hope our youngsters gave your lot some joy, now the Chiefs must down them Saders, Brutes the Sharks and I'll have some real problems on sunday!

Paarl, That was a great call on Sadie. He seems to be able to find a gap to run into anywhere, even when there isn't one.

Sadie is a very special talent, got provincial colours in five different sports as U13 (rugby/cricket/hockey/badminton/athletics). Scored some excellent tries in his career thus far.

Wow, I did not expect to see that result after a slightly prolonged (and wife-enforced) putting-kids-to-bed saga. I thought the Blues had done enough with just minutes left.

That's a huge victory for the Stormers, not only on the road and against the Blues, but in the context of their season. The Shorks are going to have to front up big time against the Bulls now.

That SA conference is looking pretty interesting. The path to the finals for a couple of teams is over each other. And the Tahs, I guess, looking at their late season visit.

Stormers did well to come back but overall both teams need to play a lot better to make the final. There was way too many mistakes in that game for two top four teams at the pointy end of the season - lineouts rucks ball handling and passing were all below par.

Ultimately I get the bad feeling that the tahs will not make the finals due to there sa trip. It is a tough one.

Harsh, the conditions were very poor. The Stormers chose the wrong boots too.

Seemed like the Stormers were playing the wrong game for the conditions/situation at times, esp early. Exacerbated number of mistakes.

Was a funny first half. Brown gave free rails at ruck time and vokken Ali was a real nonsense. Cant believe the ref let him play all first side at the wrong side of the ruck, even gave him free in lineout rucks right in front of his eyes. The Stormers had no structure , had all the field position and made some basic errors. Second half they start play like they should and at the end clinced it after they lost two which they could have won. 4 value points and Skotman should be happy!

I am not a fan of the new format but I have to admit that in general the match ups have been more balanced than any other season I can remember.
One thing I hate about the format this year is that not all the teams play against the other countries teams. Feel like we miss games on the weekends. Just a few SA friday night games and from a Stormers point of view will miss the Tah and Canes matches. They sure was enjoyable in the past. The crowd attendances is also poor and not the same as the past. Newlands have the biggest attendances and we'r down this year.

Good win to the Stormers. I tipped them because I thought they would be hungrier than the Blues and I just have this recurring wonder when the Blues will revert to their inconsistent ways. To be fair to the Blues, they were better than that, the Stormers just had the momentum at the right end of the game.

The young Stormers are an exciting prospect.

Harsh, the conditions were very poor. The Stormers chose the wrong boots too.

Ref only picked up the BLues for 5 handling errors (incl under advantage) which is below their average of 8.6 per game. Stormers made 1 more than their average of 9.1 but more importanly when they actually stopped coughing up the ball, the game changed, the controlled the game

Brown ref decisions stayed within his statistical norms and ratio for the entire Super 15 season, but you are completely right about the Stormers making stupid errors. They stopped that in the 49th minute.

Result is definitely good for the reds. You are right about the lack of structure and this could be said for both teams. I feel the stormers are being let down by their flyhalfs who are standing way too deep. The breaks the centers made were in spite of them no because of them. If they can just get a little more out of their 10 they are title contenders but if they can't they will find it difficult to score points in the finals.

Just noting too the gain from having that kind of place kicking depth in a team, the final kick the difference. I would doubt an Aus S15 team would have possessed a third-in-line place kicker who'd nail a high stakes kick from that angle and in rain.
