Other than Paige for Pienaar that's the best we can pick.

Of the players that are there anyway...

We have just about NO pace off the bench.

Strauss is about the only player you could class as an impact player.

SA are quite lucky. That's a full strength 23. (yes, Mafield and JdV don't make a full strength 23)

Matfield ruled himself out

Springbok lock Victor Matfield withdrew himself from selection for Saturday’s Rugby World Cup quarterfinal against Wales after his hamstring acted up in Tuesday’s training session once again.
Good man, though I think he should be in the 23.
Funny how Meyer loves to recite the whole charcoal under pressure = diamonds, and yet his team are relatively green, and if he had only just banked them sooner..
That is a discussion for another time I guess..

And Japan got what they deserved by beating you. Should've thrown the game and beaten Scotland and they would be playing Wales this weekend.

How does that work? If they threw that game, Japan would have won only 2 games instead of 3. If they beat Scotland instead then, then they would be in 2nd place and playing Australia.

Sorry didn't mean Wales. Meant us. Basically just meant they'd make the quarters which was their goal.

It was foolish beating SA because it meant they was no chance in beating Scotland which was essential to make the quarters.

Right.

Was really hoping Samoa could do the trick against the Scots, so Japan could beat USA and go through.
