At the risk of being called out for trolling/harping on about Gatland - Wales have scored 11 tries in the pool games against England's 16 and Wallabies 17?? Combine that with the inability to score against 13 men and it points to what I've been saying about Wales rugby under Gatland since 2011. It is limited, unimaginative and pretty easy to combat. Kudos where it is due and Gatland has been able to bring in substitutes for some very significant talents lost through injury and they have performed, but in saying that it is a very easy game plan to slip into.
I will be astounded if the Boks lose this game.
I have been quite amused at the excuses Gatland has leaked out through the media over the last couple of days, from clever control of the referee by Steven Moore (something Australian teams are soooo well known for), to the Australian scrum deliberately collapsing the scrum. When I can't pick as I thought the Wallabies dominant in every scrum of the game until the first after Mumm was sent. That scrum in particular I thought the Welsh lack of control really showed up as with an advancing scrum and the Wallaby's two backrowers already unbound (which Fardy was penalised for eventuallya couple of phases later) Faletau displayed very poor control letting the ball pop out under his feet and then Davies had no idea what to do with it.
