As long as Ireland win with no injuries ill be happy. The focus has always been on next week.

This is a chance for them to work some of their plays against stiffer competition, and I'd like to see them take a advantage of that. Last week Murray Kinsella had a post on the42.ie that discussed Jared Payne's communication in helping to organize the backline; wondering if we're seeing what happens when that's not there.

Can Ireland do anything but kick the ball away? Dreadful.

Would be a travesty for rugby if Ireland went anywhere in this World Cup. Joe is anti-rugby.

They literally kick EVERY TIME. Joe is a Kiwi. Is it because the Ireland players have sub-par skill sets he's forced to do this?

With Irelands line out kicking is a good option.

Not sure what lineouts have to do with up and unders. Not as if Ireland even catch them.

The kicking game must be a useful way for the sub par players to squeeze out games. Worked wonders against Oz and their running game in Autumn.

So you're happy for Ireland to play this way? Good luck beating NZ playing like this. Awful, boring, cynical and uninspiring. Semis will have to wait for another 4 years.

Ireland are probably the most one dimensional tier one nation out there... The frustrating thing is that for their clubs they prove they can play, why not even try at international level?

Kicking behind and stealing the line out, does not matter anyway. Through to the QF with out any injuries. Our subpar game is still enough to beat the Wallabies and Boks and win back to back 6 nations so their is a lot of teams who must be no where near par.

Wow you have to be seriously deluded to think that. I understand that you think the best way to beat the SH powers is to play no rugby and be cynical as fuck but it's not as if they're even executing that well. Can't catch their own kicks. No surprise you won the 6Ns beating NH teams with that game plan. Won't be good enough to make the maiden semis however.

Damn that was hard work, dire stuff indeed. I cant see any of the NH teams advancing far in this RWC, none have impressed to date. Everyone keeps talking IRE up but unless they are hiding a lot they are gone once they come up against a decent side, Wales dont look like they are going to make it out of the QF's to me, Scotland showing nothing and Eng already gone.

France are the potential maverick I guess, going on past form!

Could someone explain these mauls to me? @15:40 Ireland hold the Italian player up in the tackle: a maul is called. The arriving Italian forwards drive them back at a rate of knots before the Irish players fall over, dragging the whole thing down. Penalty against Italy for collapsing the maul. How? It was the Irish players who lost their footing and brought it down. How exactly are you meant to get out of that kind of maul legally, or can't you?

Well as much as you can say that about the NH teams, SA did lose to Japan and NZ haven't looked themselves. Aus are the only team in this WC who are looking something special and have been my pick to win this since Cheika took over.

But its a WC it has to be remembered, many a poor performing team has made it far and to the final. France in '11 were very nearly the worst team in sport to win a WC.

POM carded for the same move Du Plessis was carded for, and Hooper got away with.

The Referees have been a little inconsistent haven't they.

If you think that is bad, how about what has been happening at Judiciary?
It seems the book gets thrown at players from all the non-European Minnow nations while Quarter Finalists and European Minnow nations seem to get thrashed with a wet lettuce leaf.

I would like to see both Hooper and Burgess get cited for their efforts. In the event that this happens, I am fully expecting to see the Judicial Random Sanctioniser exposed in all it's glory once again.
