In addition, the Pom loss in Oz was due to the APPALLING front row selections of R Deans. The loss in Twickers was due to QCs turnstiles - there were few scrums. We were also surprised by the expansive English gameplan. I was at both games.

If we pick a strong lineout and scrum with Barnes at 10, we will not lose.

I would take SA at $8 at the mo. They will make semis and will get shorter. The ABs and Wobblies will not get materially shorter until finals day and perhaps not at all in the case of the latter.

RWC rugby is different to SuperRugby and requires a different playing emphasis. The Wallaby horses for the England course, for example, should not be Reds players, Horwill, Genia, Iaone aside.

Queenslanders need to be reminded that they have only beaten NSW once out of the last 8 encounters. This was at home and injury ravaged.

The Boks are a good punt for mine. I very roughly calculated their chances at ~17%. England has some value too but they have a tough draw which will pit them in knockout matches against, most likely; France, Australia and New Zealand - can't see them winning all 3.

Losing hurts. Losing to the Poms is a special kind of pain.

I remember walking around Paris in 2007 the week after the Poms knocked us out. The day of the Pom v Frog SF my mate and I wandered past a group of 20-30 Pom fans drinking at a cafe. A bit of banter from them to us, (some good natured, some not so), which we responded to with a smile and a wave. And kept walking.

I have rarely been so pissed off, sick and angry with the world than at that point. It made the Wobs failure real, if you see what I mean.

I am not a religious man, but Lord, if you are listening, please radiate your blessings on the Wobs, for whom we love, and in turn please smite those Pommy bastards mightily so they might forget how to scrum and catch. As much as it pains me to say this. I agree with Bazza (a cold shiver just ran down my spine) to a degree. The Wallabies pack should have a very strong Tahs orientation. They have proven they as a unit are the strongest pack in Australia and do warrant selection. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing Horwill in the place of Mumm for his scrummaging ability. At the very least in should have the Tahs front row with Palu at the back.
