Well, Gagger, to apply the words of John Pullin to Deans; he may not be much good, but at least he turns up.

Unlike some notables here, I may add...

You ARE kidding. Turn up for Coach of the All Blacks after knocking them out, AT HOME. And just to rub it in, have a photo of it on your resume.

I can picture it, but I can't see it as a successful strategy. Actually i can't picture it, cause we've got NO chance while he's coach.

The Cantabs would demand he gets it. The Latte-Sippers - in fact, the whole North Island in general - and probably the Penguin-botherers of Otago would demand he be burnt alive. You'd have civil war in NZ.

So, there's no actual downside... ;)

I just can't see the Wallabies coming even close.

I suppose they've narrowly lost a couple of time this year, but you can't afford any more than 1 loss, maybe, in the World Cup, and they're just not anywhere near consistent enough.

I agree, it's a death knell for Henry if they don't get up, but I still wouldn't be bragging (over there) about being the one to knock them out.

All I really want is a rising groundswell of "SACK DEANS", and I can't believe it's not more prevalent.

Haggard - this is one of the silliest threads I've seen since being involved in rugby forums since 1999.

Quit whilst you are behind.

Maybe this could become our version of the "Testing - don't reply" thread that got to about 100 pages on the Fern a few years ago.

Maybe a Wild Wild West zone where any theory can be given an airing, no matter how ludicrous.

Look at any Gnostic or Reds Happy post on the site, or go back onto the second or third page of threads and you'll find a mountain of stuff. Some of it I even contributed to.

How do people feel about Robbie singing the Aussie national anthem. I appreciate that he does it, and think his intent behind it is in genuine good faith, but by the same token I wouldn't hold it against him if he didn't. I suppose it speaks alot to his professionalism.

Yeah, but we are in a small, actively disliked minority. We have applied for grants, and have undertaken a bit of counselling, but we're not sure if we can fight alone any more, even though the supply of available ammunition - witness today's match in Ireland - becomes more and more plentiful by the week. Meanwhile, I have spoken to a word-count specialist, and Gnostic is quietly 'managing the anger'. I just don't know if we can last it out.

You see RH - good word count, and I read it! Nice humour in there btw

One spanner in the works on the Munster loss is that it was Nucifora running that team, not Deans

Australia (in all sports) will happily 'adopt' anyone who is good. (There's no quicker refugee pathway than to be a world class athlete), so I'm happy with that, and the odd South African.
How many of the current All Black squad were born in New Zealand? I'd guess around 2/3rds.

Do come on, dear boy. No need for the persecution complex ;)

How have the Wallabies got any better under Deans?

Tactically their play is awful, the scrum is decidedly worrying, and what do you have to do to get dropped from the side? Why is Giteau still there? He can't tackle, he doesn't run the ball with any conviction, but I suppose at least he can still kick goals. AH HAHA AHHAHAHHAAAAAAAAAA.

What has that got to do with the acid influenced conspiricy theory you firstly proposed......

Aren't they all - Deansie, Nucie, Blakey, Williamsey, one big happy coachie family now, united in all things? Robbie was the one quoted today declaiming how valuable these matches were etc and chatting about the result.

Whatever, I guess for the Deans' believers it will be extremely good news if Nucie gets the blame for today, as a poorer and more negligent display of what one assumes is at least in part coach-driven preparation for a major game played by a national side, it would be hard to find in the recent history of the game. Or...wait a tick...maybe we can just blame those players, as we really have no idea what the coaches actually said to them.

C'mon, RH. Don't get down on yourself. You need to save some of that energy for bashing Dingo.

Edit: Oops, typed too soon. That's the spirit!

Sport is more than business and a job - it is about passion. Robbie would be aiming to win the world cup but by knocking his beloved all blacks out of the tournament again - and at home! I just wonder if that would be a hollow victory....
