Good luck to the team. With your rate of improvement you might have to seek some competition from further afield.

The mid/long term goals are to move up the competitions . The biggest challenge we face for next season is finding games for everyone . I am now averaging 28-30 guys at training with more wanting to come play , if we have two teams then finding matches for the 2nd team will be hard as none of the other regional league teams have two teams . Its a good problem to have , but one that needs to be solved so that guys dont lose interest from not getting game time .

Highlights from our final game last weekend at home. Was against the same team we played the weekend before because it was a make up game from during the season where it was rained out .

Interesting that the goalposts have to be set to the width of the soccer posts. Here in Australia councils/schools often installed special composite posts to allow both codes (plus league) to be played on the one ground.

It goes one step better - we must set the posts up in line with the dead ball line so the try line is actually *in front* of the goal posts not in line.

Ive coached grass roots in Australia before but you can't get more grassroots here, the posts are literally made up of some soccer goals with some extensions attached . Before that we had to manually add some extentions to some soccer goals - another rugby club that no longer exists (2 hours away) kindly offered their goal posts for us for free to have as long as we drove there and removed them , and drove them back. Was quite the working bee and piss up to make that happen.

You must also remember that Rugby is very minor (and unheard of) sport in Germany - especially here in Kassel so such things as hybrid goal posts dont exist :D .

Ever had to build your goalposts out of PVC pipe and fill the bottom ones with sand so they don't blow over?

exISA, I presume your club's piss up after the goal posts' expedition featured some outstanding German brews. A comment on the local beers'd be nice to read.

Ill be sure to add it in the coming days . I am lucky enough to live next to the kassler brewery . The good thing about german beer is its highly regulated so its only good shit haha .

Madison Higgins-Ashby may have only just entered her teens, but has already been selected for the Pacific Barbarians under-20 rugby sevens squad to play in Hawaii, after showing up rivals six years her senior

The 13-year-old dynamo has tried her hand at various sports, representing NSW in Oztag and touch football, and currently plays rugby league for the St Clair Comets

But her dream lies in rugby sevens, a game she has only been playing for just over 12 months, and a chance at representing her country at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
