Train Without a Station, I hear where you are coming from but you're talking about this bloke as if he hasn't played rugby since high school. That doesn't sound like the case. Sounds like the only reason he left the brumbies was for money / to get out of Canberra.

Sure he could be either a success or flop, but the same is true for any player from any level of background, entering a new team and set up, or even a new season. We wont warrant Folau size dollars but as far as converting league forwards to rugby, he's a prime candidate with his skills and background.

Id probably say no.8 is the least technical position out of the whole forward pack. His primary role would be to tackle and hit the ball up (basically what he's doing so well in league atm).

GForce have 1 spot left and i think we are short a Loosie but i doubt it will happen he will end up at the Reds or Tahs if he does make the switch.

Thinking about this some more, perhaps the ARU are looking for more converts so if the League vs the Wallabies game does eventuate we'll smash the Leaguies :)

Outside backs come across much easier than forwards.

The breakdown and set piece is a key element of the forwards game and he does none of it now. That's why Thorn struggled to come across.

If we were talking a Kangaroo outside back that would be a different story.

Could do extremely well. Could also struggle with the nuances of rugby and be solely effective as a seagulling player.

Agree about Outside Backs come to Union easier than Forwards. Because the Cronulla NRL Club are having Issues and Asada hasn't even given their Verdict yet. Players there are getting Restless. I don't think the NRL will let him go and I am Confident he will stay. But he would be a Great Asset in Union, he has a Junior Background in it, wouldn't take long to get the Techniques right and at 194 cm (6 ft 4 in), 114 kg (17 st 13 lb), he is Tough and he would be have to be the Fittest and having the gift of speed would be the Fastest Forward in Union for a Big Man, could play possibly a couple of other position as well.

How about we forget trying to convert him from Fivekick to a Rugby forward, and think about using him in the backline. Apparently the Fivekick to Rugby skills are more transferrable out there.

Make him the new AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). He seldom passes the ball, but has yet amassed a very large number of Test Caps.

He could play a Ma'a Nonu or Manu Tuilaga style of game out in the centres.

Honey Badger don't wait for meat to be given to him on a plate.

Honey Badger gets his own meat.

He has to when he is outside AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), otherwise Honey Badger will starve.

I know the ARU came out and said they wouldnt chase League stars again after the Sailor/Tuqiri/Rodgers era which I agree with, but this is exactly the sort of case in which they should be looking to chase a player, ie; not big name backs.

He potentially fills a hole in a position which is a weakness in Australian Rugby, topped by the fact he played plenty of rugby as a junior, is only 24, and he came to us. We would be mad not to put together a decent offer.

Fifita is saying that he doesn't know anything about any meeting with McKenzie and there's no truth to the rumour that he's going to rugby union.

<insert club chairman name> has told <insert media outlet> that there is no truth in the rumour that they are about to sack coach <insert name of coach about to be sacked>. The Board of <insert club> has complete confidence in our coach, and we look foreward to seeing him complete the remaining two years of his contract.

Only to be followed by the media release two weeks later: <insert club name> announces that Coach <insert name of coach who had the complete confidence of the Board two weeks prior> has been released from their contract by mutual agreement.

How often does that play out?
