The Moose kicking tee was promoted/featured on Rugby Club last year.

Seemed almost too good to be true but so far in my travels around the ovals this year, I haven't seen any live nor have any been seen on TV. Is it too good to be true?

Has anyone seen the Moose used?

Yep I've seen it and tried it.
It requires a very front on kicking style.
Which I have no problem with but seems not to be favoured by the best

It seems to engourage a very AFL like kicking style that would be very "foreign" to most existing kickers who have invested many many hours in learning, practicing and perfercting their "round the corner" place kicking stlye.

You say you tried it @Inside Shoulder. Did you think it was any good? Were you able to slot them over from 45 metres out?

My kicking was just as bad which means it was no worse - and that's a positive.
It was explained to me that the intention was to have the ball teed up so it is in the same position for a place kick as a drop kick - or drop punt. So I think your analysis is right.
There seems to be a push on in England for a more front in kicking style and this would suit that.

I have say this about the AFL style of kicking. Having been taught to kick in that manner. It provides the kicker with a greater degree of control over the destination of the ball. Well that's my experience. Last year before training's I'd kick the ball about and it was noted on several occasions how accurately I kicked.

It also provides the greatest degree of distance outside of the old torpedo. I cannot kick a ball quite as far as I once could but using the AFL style drop punt as opposed to the typical Rugby/League style kick I found that I still punt it 50 regularly enough.
