After seeing the team, this looks optimistic

After seeing the forecast, maybe it is accurate?

Given every professional rugby football player in this country has tits for hands this match is definitely going to be a must miss.

Not sure I prefer Hooper at 7 to Brown, but given Jahrome isn't on the bench was he injured last game? Still, maybe it's a selection in line with the more intense approach to the breakdown adopted by the Brumbies this year?

Bell has returned, and he and HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes) are no slouches... plus the Brumbies are missing Schoupp and AAA, with McInerney returning from neck surgery.

I'm not sure if the Brumbies' scrum has been good enough this year to pose that much of a threat.

There will be plenty of pressure on Pollard's lineout throws too.

I hope the Wilson-Harrison axis gets some reasonable minutes.

Bell is still marginal

Its his second game back after two years out with injury. If he starts the rest of the season from the bench that's okay with me.
True … although if they want to score tries they need him… Edmed is not the man…

Just quietly, Cale is reminding me of Higginbotham. Higs was of similar size to Cale and Wilson, but Wilson, whilst running great lines and a huge worker, never seems to have the genuine power and athleticism of Higs, who was the Reds King of the gym one year, hyper explosive out wide and dominant at the front of the lineout. Cale could grow into that jumping running 6, if Valetini focuses on the coal face.

Yeah but season is basically done already. He seems to have genuine talent and hopefully can still reach a high level of ability. No reason to risk him for another abortive Tah season when he could be so much more.

I really don't think Edmed is the problem. I definitely think we're not playing to his strengths which is dumb because we look much better when he runs the ball more and we generally play more direct.

We butchered multiple tries against the Rebels and that has been the story in most games. The opportunities are there we're just not finishing. A lot of it is just poor decision making in the final moments.

Against the Rebels we made a big break and linked a number of good passes before Gleeson passed one time too many and it went straight to a Rebels players. If he holds onto that we have front foot ball less than 10 metres from the try line and should score within a phase or two.

Pietsch getting mowed down by Gordon was a shocker in general. I thought he'd beaten him and I assume he thought the same. It should have been a pretty straight forward try by positioning himself to commit Gordon and then passing to Jake Gordon in support.

I do think we should give Harrison a crack in a game or two if things don't turn around. At the same time I don't think Edmed is largely to blame for the team's troubles. I'd argue he's been one or our more consistent players.

The season ‘done’ already? You’re kidding…

Are you saying, BH, that you disagree with the perfectly cromulent theory that <poster's favourite player> will fix everything?

Presposterous.

At the risk of being accused of wearing blue tinted glasses, we do tend to lift for this fixture. I'm not expecting us to win but we won't get done by 40 either. I'd be starting Harrison & Foketi and sending Pietsch back to club for a few weeks, he mightn't even make 1st grade after that U15C's play on Friday. Put Walton on his wing, or Reilly.
We’ve lost 11 straight against them

Reilly hasnt looked bad, wouldnt mind to see him get a start. Travelling down this week, hope itss not 40 point difference!
I've liked what Reilly has brought but I do think we had such low expectations he's blown us away with a competent display.

He's lining up for Randwick this week with Beale at 10.

Outside of Reilly is there any other genuine Outside Back in the squad? Wilson I guess but I get the feeling he's been decided on by the coaches. After that we get into the 20s guys like Archie Saunders.

Why can’t Coleman send a message to players like Pietsch and Edmed who stuff up the forward pack has been pretty decent but some of the backs need to go to the bench or Shute shield for a few weeks
