Round 4: Rebels vs Brumbies 11 March 7.45pm AAMI Park

Brumby Runner

Jason Little (69)
Despite apparently little interest in the game, this match is of real importance to both teams.

From a Rebels POV it is important they turn up and put in a full effort in order to stop the waning of support among their fans which is obvious from posts on GAGR every day lately. They need to give their fans reason to feel proud supporting them. Fighting for the full 80 minutes and maybe jagging a win here and there will start to fire the passion again.

For the Brumbies, they also need to turn up for the full 80, and show that they can be merciless to teams that are struggling. They should be keeping a wary eye on the next match against the Reds rather than taking it game by game so that they can establish some credibility with fans and themselves in their challenge for the top of the Aus table. I would like to see minimal change to the lineup, maybe starting Sio to give Slipper a bit of a rest, and bringing Lachlan Lonergan back on to the bench. If Neville is fit, then give him a spot on the bench too. The only other change up I'd like would be Cameron Clark for Jesse Mogg on the bench. After that, I'd prefer McKellar to keep the starting side together for a bit longer on the field to keep the foot on the throat if they are well ahead.

Anyway, hoping for a good, open game with both sides playing at or near their best.

Kellaway & Mogg, cool.

Picking Rebels by 3, Hodge to actually remember how to catch and the all star centre pairing of Nu'u & Ripley to demolish their petit wallaby counterparts.

Also is FF (Folau Fainga'a) injured? Super Rugby is not long enough to be resting a player this often who isn't even a definite Wallaby starter. Bloke needs to play himself into contention, come on Brumbies send him to the Reds.

Good to see Kellaway, Hodge and Hardwick back. Also happy to see Sorovi picked ahead of Tuttle. Young Tonumaipea unlucky to be benched.

Rebels look stronger team with Jordan, kellaway, Hardwick and hodge back.

Good to see retained Ripley and Canham. Young T on the bench…interesting rugby.com had him in their totw.

Rebels side not looking too shabby this week.

Decent front row, backrow, halves pairing and back three. I expect this one to be closer than people are making it out

I want to see two things - improved handling (no dropped ball) and a varied point of attack (come on Joey have a snipe).

Good to see no change 9-13 for once

I think I'm going to gird myself and go to AAMI for this. Expectations are low, hopefully I can walk away with a smile on my face.

Congratulations to Matt Philip who is set to be the 16th player to play 50 Super Rugby games for the Rebels.

Amazing what two weeks does to the spirit. After watching the home game live against the Force, I thought I could never possibly return so soon. But here I am looking forward to going to the game tonight. I must be amnesiac in my misery.

I wanted to go but had nobody to go with this week. Watching on the TV, watched the women for the first time and hopefully the blokes can be inspired. Showed a lot of fight was impressive

They've introduced restrictions on TV's. Can't buy more than 3 at one time. Damn you Covid ruining our supply chains!
