Up the Guts

Wasn’t even 14 all. Reds only scored 12, Chiefs scored 3 tries.14 all in the second half against an obviously better team on the night. That’s the start of the positivity thread.

and how did your blue eyed boy go?

looks like we both fu•*ed that up... 12 all.Wasn’t even 14 all. Reds only scored 12, Chiefs scored 3 tries.
Not even regrets that you paid for the ticket?
Who else failed to put it out? Stewart actually made a couple of rookie errors but that’s to be expected. No one actually minds so much, as he is coming on in trying circumstances. Your undying infatuation is annoying is all.Yeah, little boy blue was fine. He failed to put one penalty out (a few players did that mind you.
A FUCKEN GREAT REMINDER WHY I SHOULD STOP GOONGTO REDS A HOME GAMES.
That was terrible to watch, and even fucken worse with the fucken import chief fans with the cow bell.

Not sure Daugunu’s kicking game is good enough to cover fullback. If the Reds get more front foot ball then it may allow Lance to be more creative. Most of the problem in the back end of the first half was that the Reds’ forwards weren’t going anywhere in attack and Lance had no real options other than to put up the high ball. Unsure whether Stewart would necessarily be any better in the same circumstances.Yeah, little boy blue was fine. He failed to put one penalty out (a few players did that mind you), but on the plus side he was one of the first at the next ruck (I think he was the tackler too). He was likely a little too ambitious with the kick but was a fairly close thing.
I'd like to see Toua coming off for Petaia with Daugunu sliding over to fullback rather than pulling Perese, unless for some reason we are easing Perese back into it. I also don't get how/why we can find 30 odd minutes for Petaia when we are fairly well supplied on the wing's and centers but we can only find 10 or so minutes for Stewart when we have an unplayable fly half in Lance and then apparently no one else.
It was also nice to see Hockings get a run, he needs to be put on the Tupou/Rodda diet but otherwise looked decent -- albeit like a baby gazelle trying to pick up that lose ball (you could see he knew what he wanted his body to do -- his body just wasn't co-operating on that one).
I'm wondering at what point (if any) do we turn the starting fly half job over to Stewart because he's almost certainly going to be playing it next year if he's ready or not, why not let him make those mistakes now while we don't have too much to play for?
Are there any alternatives?
Is Stewart worse than Jack McIntire?
You’re right, it is scathing, but more an endorsement of your own personal player dislikes than an actual report. Fair play to you for getting it out early though.
Well I went to game, and have to say Reds seem very similar to what they have been the last few years, only with young players playing as badly! Kerevi is not someone I consider a very good 12, he certainly struggles with defence, surprised how easily Chiefs went easily through the midfield. reds certainly look like they are coached by someone who doesn't really understand the idea of manipulating defences , and the number of times they shovel ball through their hands for no purpose is frustrating as hell.
