Here it is. http://www.smh.com.au/sport/the-fit...iwis-are-living-in-denial-20110819-1j2bj.html

WELL, I never. There I was in Tauranga on Wednesday, in the land of the long white shroud - with snow falling from the tippie-toes of Invercargill to the noggin of the North Island - only to find something that made my blood run even colder. For there, on the front page of The New Zealand Herald was a story about a campaign to get Kiwis to be celibate as a bizarre way of supporting the All Blacks during their Rugby World Cup. Posters exhorting Kiwis to "Touch, pause and don't engage" will be one of many slogans plastered on bus shelters, which is at least a little improved on the original plan - and I'm not making this up - to have signs above urinals saying, "Think of your mum in a bikini - Abstain for the All Blacks". I know, I know, completely crazy. We've all heard of "taking one for the team", but encouraging the reverse among the more comely members of the population seems completely counterproductive. This is not only dangerous for the New Zealanders - for, no kidding, if they abstain until the next time the All Blacks win the World Cup, it is entirely possible an entire race of lovely people will be wiped out - but it will be disturbing should the idea cross the ditch. For, people my people, this is not a trend for us to follow. No, in our own brown and pleasant land, I say we show the Kiwis how it is properly done. Yes, I think in this country on this bright morning, as the sun shines and the birds sing, we must do what we have always done with such aplomb - root for the Wallabies. With abandon. On my count …

No headaches. No excuses.

I used to live in Canada. Their English is funny over there. They say 'What team do you root for?'

I always thought it was funny.

Also when the Canadian Olympic Team came to Sydney in 2000 they were sponsored by a clothing brand called 'Roots'

Damn i had some fun with that.

My name is EVERYFWDTHINKTHEYREA6OR7 and that's my story.

I lived there for a few years and alway laughed when I saw "Roots Kids" clothes, you would hate to have your child wear then in Australia

Looks like the ARU have got up Smith's nose just a little of late. Good read I thought, though

The Spanish speaking tourists in Oz always had a chuckle whenever they see a car or a billboard with the word "Pajero"...

I said to my girlfriend last night,...'Crouch........Touch.........Pause..........ENGAGE". Can we do more than just root for the Wallabies?

Don't know why I didn't twig earlier.
JOC (James O'Connor) obviously couldn't make the team announcement because he'd pulled while at the pub and quite rightly rated rooting for the Wallabies higher than standing around in a cold hanger getting his photo taken.

Should get a G& GR commendation for supporting the cause :thumb:
