In no way diminishing the efforts of the Reds last year, which I almost thoroughly enjoyed (save for that pesky result in Hatefest 2), it is amusing to see the cockiness resurface in Reds fans, so quick to get back to chest beating after a good year that erases all memory of several fairly crappy efforts. At least the Tahs are consistent in their slightly above-average, yet not stellar, performances and ability to disappoint their fans. So much easier to stay on an even keel. :)

Yes no point practicing post try celebrations if you aren't going to score any tries. ;)
Just curious, which team scored more tries in 2011? Genuine question, I don't know, but had a sneaky thought it might have been the Tahs? Can anyone enlighten me?

Can we count the finals?
Sure you can. I just wondered if the vibe (Queensland are all fancy-pantsy, try-scoring magicians and the Tahs are the masters of tedium) was matched by hard data.
I'm guessing past glories of Qld 10-man rugby under Tempo and Knuckles have been relegated to the dustbin of history too?

Reds win by one try.
Tahs got more bonus points.
Tahs had better for / against.
Reds let in more tries.

Without looking at the actual results, I guess that means the Tahs thrashed the bad teams more soundly?

I'll be honest, I gave up supporting Qld rugby for a while after I did some work for them. Inbred nepotistic fools the lot of them - seems like a different organisation now.

My gut feeling was that the Reds would have more tries, would not have expected better BPs. The last two I would have picked, based on the two teams defensive structures.
Funny that two teams measuring up reasonably closely in some stats can be so far from each other in perception of style etc...

Maybe it is as simple as the Tahs fans expecting more than they get and being vocal about it when things don't pan out they way they expected, while the Reds fans have historically had a lower threshold of expectation and therefore are surprised when expectations are exceeded.

Or it could just be that Tahs fans are rubbish...less civilised...low on the food chain...a decent lot.

Excluding the grand final (where Reds got to play one more game) Waratahs scored 49 tries to Reds 48. Now you know.

I heard that Tod Mckenny was helping out with the routines for the dancing. Berrick cries a real lot on account of all his hormones and Rocky is obsessed with Traditional Japanese Odori dancing that just does not translate to a rugby field. It is a real mess apparently.

Tod McKenny has excellent footwork, Berrick only cries when he remembers his time at the reds being so woeful and Rocky is performing a kata i.e. practicing karate so he can kill Reds more efficiently.

I think the stats are really just showing that the Tahs really smashed the bad teams and the Reds were able to beat the top teams more consistantly. Personally I prefer the second type of Rugby - the games are better to watch.

Out of those 45 or so trys scored by the Tahs, how many were PnG's?

They've not been there so don't know.

Really suckerforred, does bundy do that much harm to your memory... 2008, 2005? Seeing as you are so terrible at remembering history, let me use this visual descriptor of the good old days....
