C'mon. The Waratahs should have scored a few times during that 25 minute stretch of dominance, and their failure to do so wasn't the refs fault.

Well done Reds! Very pleased. We played the 'Tahs game and won.

No point blaming the ref. He missed just as much stuff from both sides. Tahs were getting an early hit on most scrums.

Would have taken some balls from Smith to decide the game for such an inexperienced referee at this level. Walsh on the other hand... Who knows...

Phil Waugh giving his usual lack of credit to the opposition. He should have taken the penalties on offer at the 60 minute mark and they would have won it.

Brilliant defence by the Reds to keep the Tahs out in that 15 minute period. They have now shown they can adapt to the game situation. The scrum can only get better when Slipper comes back and it's unlikely Cooper will have another shocker like that with his kicks.

An enjoyable error fest.

Scrummus horrubulus.

Classic case of the Waratahs not knowing how to win games when it matters. They had every chance to score and royally fucked it up.

Scarf. No ref would have given that a try. There was no way of seeing it.

Kepu surely has to be the Wallaby 3. Gets better and better at scrumtime.

Thor Robinson is a warrior.

Well done Waratahs too of course. Really took it to us with a brutal forwards effort. Could have easily won that game. Maybe even deserved to!

What did he say? Missed the post-game interview.

Yeah, that was the difference in the scrums...
Reality was though, that the Tahs ought to have won with all that pressure.
Personally, I thought the ref allowed too much fucking around with the scrums which dragged it all out. I think Phil should have taken the 3 early - when there was 20 mins or more to go, to be 1 point down would have been a good position, given that the Tahs were getting some ascendancy up front. The pigheadedness to keep bashing the same point home stuffed them, in every way.

Pretty sure the Waratahs have won quite a few close games over the years. Especially against the Reds.

Yeah, Kepu is becoming a phenomenon.

It went wrng when TPN went off. The very next scrum was not as dominant with Uligia and could have resulted in another penalty and quite possible a penalty try after that.

TPN just doesn't have more than 60 in him. With Moore as backup that would be okay but with a rookie it can be costly and it was.

The Tahs chucked that one away. Failure to take the points on offer several times penalties cost them dear, they left it to late to finally take the kick at the posts. Only themselves to blame.

How did they adapt, exactly? Tackling the other team when they have all the ball should actually be in the original game plan, I would have thought. Radical, I know.

Sure, although I should have said in clutch games, as this was. They needed to shrink the margin to one game in the Aus conference. Now it's an 11 point margin for the Reds. Costly.
