Hunt replaces Taefu and Goromaru comes in to fullback.

The Ballymore Kid is on the bench for a potential Super Rugby debut!

If the NRC is the next level down from Super Rugby why are club teams mentioned and not NRC teams?

This really does not matter but it would have been like having the junior club or school named prior to NRC existing (2 levels below Super Rugby)

Biggest surprise is seeing McCalman on the bench. Didnt expect him back so quickly. Other moves are hardly a shock. Semesi over Brache was easy, as was Junior at 12. Bring on the game.

probably because they are committed to clubs now, and not NRC teams.

Plus every player must be committed to a club, not to an NRC team

Actually, its an interesting question. Id say because it gets the players closer to the grass roots in the eyes of the rugby public.

Do they train much at their clubs? just thinking they spend all day at the reds, do they show up in the evening at club training every week or is it more every now and then?

I have absolutely no idea but have always imagined it would be like an Aussie cricketer. If they are lucky they might attend a preseason training day and then the ARU/QRU step in and restrict their number of games due to their contract.

I am predicting this to be ground out from the kick off, not much rugby will get played. Happy for it to be so if the Reds get up, otherwise I'll be dirty and bitter that the Force out boringed us to a win. DHP better not snatch another victory on the bell. I will straight cry like a baby.

I gave up a few years ago, hoping to see rugby being played in this fixture.
For reasons unknown, both teams try to drag the other down to some lower level.
It's always a shocker where no one really wins.

Does RG pick the team himself, or is there a selection panel?

I imagine the assistant coaches get a say, but is it a matter of RG just saying:

and it's done.

Or is there a selection panel outside the coaching group?

*sigh* the running lines, the players working hard off the ball, the inside balls, the deception and innovation from our playmakers, the strong running, the multiple support runners......

Can someone send that video to RG?

I'd have thought Rasolea would have come into 13 with Taps moving to 12. A match up of Rasolea against Kerevi would add a lot of interest to the game, while I am a believer that Taps has always been a better 12 than 13.

Agree with that.
