Here's one more pic that shows how disappointed Reds fans were - someone left a full beer behind when they stormed out in disgust.

I reckon he had legged it to the bathroom after downing 10 beers in 80mins

If it was me, I'd have made one full one out of the dregs of a dozen randoms and left it there hoping someone would drink it................

Given the quality (or lack thereof) of most beer sold in Stadia nowdays, it is hardly surprising that it was rejected.
Alternatively, it could be the recycled byproduct resulting from the consumption of the drinks stacked up on the left hand side. A loig supporter mate of mine who should know reckons that there is little difference between that and XXXX gold.

Getting a little (OK a lot) off topic but I find the relatively constant complaining about the quality or variety of beer being sold at the footy pretty bloody tedious.

At a Stadium that is designed to hold 52,000 people, there is no way you should expect anything other than the most mainstream local beer. It's a footy stadium not a boutique beer bar. #firstworldproblems /rant

Staying off topic, & I can't talk for Suncorp, but the main rant is more about the amount of time spent in Beer and Food Queues.

It is generally accepted that the quality is going to be fair to middling at best, and the price is going to be inflated, but do the F&B concession holders need to go for the daily trifecta and make the designated purchaser miss great chunks of the game stuck in the refreshments queue.

@Scoey, as a proud Queenslander, I am surprised that you have taken the wrong bait. In times bygone when beer didn't cross state lines, I'd have been strung up if I had made the above statement in the front bar of the Breakfast Creek Hotel.:)

You'd be pleasantly surprised at Suncorp. Food service is generally quite quick and beers are even quicker. It's a very well designed stadium and easily the best I've ever been to from a whole experience point of view.

I think I read somewhere that in full production mode, they can pour 16,000 beers per minute or something ludicrous like that.

If you haven't been (I'm assuming you haven't), treat yourself to watching a big game at Suncorp (Test Match maybe?). You'll thank me for it.

As for not taking the bait. The proud QLDer in me is automatically offended by your slight of XXXX Gold but then I remember that I don't drink it either and I get over it. It's not a terrible beer but it's pretty hard on the head the next day and there are plenty of better beers out there. It's fine to drink at the footy though. Personally I'll have a couple at one of the pubs nearby and maybe only have one or two at the game.
