I like how Morahan was pulled off after making that tackle on Taumalolo. He's a confidence player and having that be his last act will be good (unless of course he's suspended which he probably will be).

Intent is irrelevant.
We have seen this year that if a player lifts another, and does not return them safely to ground, it is sanctioned.
Given what else has passed this year, this should be looked at in similar light.

That was a cracker of a game, everyone played awesome. Big forward game which I love. And i think Link is a genius coach, I dropped into balleymore 4 times this week and it was a goast town. Reds in a dark room watching chiefs games all week. And trained against nudgee 1st xv on Friday.

Have to watch the replay but it was bloody brilliant to watch that live. Lots of contributers again with Morahan having his best game in ages, Harris finally finding the radar and having a good all round day, and Gill just enormous at the breakdown. Robinson on for Schatz in the second half was a genius move as well as AWH for Horwill.

And...Will Genia, welcome back, still the country's best halfback by a way.

Early days and still plenty to do, but carn the Reds!

Yeah the Morahan tackle was harmless but what kind of bullshit is "oh we can't get a number so no yellow"? I'm pretty sure the big screen at the ground showed a replay of the tackle? Or how about just asking the TMO? Is this another one of those ridiculous protocols which is not allowed?

Up until now I thought Hooper was clearly ahead of Gill as the back up to Pocock on this years form. After the last two weeks I don't think it is so clear cut. Their clash in two weeks should be a beauty.

Yeah, not being able to review it seems ridiculous - I would have been annoyed if I was a chiefs fan. I didn't think there was much in it, but I did think he went past the horizontal which is enough this year to earn a rest.

Congrats to the reds, fantastic game to watch.
Horwill was outstanding, gill even better.
What are the chances of the wallabies playing two opensides?

The ten minutes before half time should be remembered more than the other try's though, Angry Horwill is the best type of horwill and if he wasnt fired up I think he might have taken the shot at goal, was great to see.

Genia back to his best, carbon copy try from the 2011 Super Rugby Final, clever kicking - seemed to have more time.

Having the Fainga'as back makes such a difference in defence, so hard to get go forward with those guys chopping people down (I know it wasn't just them today)

SBW has a step??? He looked good outside Cruden, but the latter was awesome as well.

Would have loved to be in the rooms at half time... whatever was said was awesome. I think teams may not choose to fire Horwill up just before half time in the future.

They actually put the match stats up on the stadium big screen to keep the crowd quiet rather than allowing anyone to see the replay. Seems to be standard at Suncorp for controversial incidents.

Jonker and the touchie kept looking up hoping for a replay that didn't come.

I don't think we should go down the path of 2 opensides - it didn't work before. Rather be happy that we have some really good depth developing at 7 and 6. Still need some bolstering at 8, but when we can look at Pocock, Gill, Hooper, Dennis, Higginbotham, Mowen, Palu, Auelua, Hodgson and so on as options, we are not too badly off.
Higgers played a belter of a game - a lot more tight work, and for me, he looked better doing that than the flashy stuff, which we know he can do.

Agreed, Higgers was great in tight.
As much as I love Pocock, I. Would just love another open side on the bench at least for some fresh legs, we ask. To much of him.

I would guess that there are protocols about what can and cannot be shown on the big screen. The game does not need match officials standing around looking at the replays to help them make decisions IMHO. The TMO's responsiblities are, presumably, well documented. The simple fact is that the television view can, and often is, misleading, which is why there needs to be some rules.

Gill is an absolute thief. A real menace. His ability to stay on his feet is amazing. Beau for me is the better option on the Wobs bench. Can play different roles ( as long as it entails bashing blokes as well). Gill would have to be an alternate, giving Pocock a break. We do expect to much from him.
