Scoey,

Some blokes cop more than their share.

Chris FS is one, Benny Lucas is another

\It just seems to happen to some players

Bloody pity Nigel Ah Wong has gone down south. If he hadn't I reckon he would have been on the bench this weekend.

Wasn't he being used as a winger this year? I'm not sure how he would go at super level as a backrower.... seemed all flash and no dirty work from memory?

You'd think dales and holmes will start but I would be ok with Owen. Curtis will start at 6, Beau at 7 and Mcduling to take the reserve back row spot and get good time, he deserves it.

Who the fuck do we put on the other wing? You'll have davies and shipperley to start and JJ on the bench? Fuck.

Another smart play would be to PLAY OUR FUCKING CENTRES IN THEIR BEST POSITIONS!!!!!!!! Taps to 12 and Ant to 13. It makes so much more sense that it blows my mind it hasn't yet been done. Harris will have to stay at 15 for now unfortunately and also should be given the fucking kicking tee. Quade is kicking well...which unfortunately for him is like 75-78%. Not good enough. Harris at his best is a 85+% kicker with more range and ability to nail clutch kicks that Quade has ever shown.

1. Dales
2. Chibba
3. Holmes
4. Simmo
5. Kev
6. Browning
7. Beau
8. Schatz
9. Genia
10. Quade
11. Ships
12. Taps
13. Ant
14. Davies
15. Harris

16. Saia
17. Anae
18. Owen
19. O'donoghue
20. Mcduling
21. Frisby
22. Lucas
23. JJ

They're not our best team, not by a long way but that is 100% the best team I believe we could put on the park right now. Given what's happened to us I would be ok if Dick and the rest of the organisation just shut their fucking mouths, circle the wagons and come out and look to show we're not done yet. Even if we lose I would be ok if I can tangibly see an absolute, resolute commitment to throw off the shackles, feel the love and compete like mongrel dogs. Let's get physical, let's have fun. Who knows, maybe we'll get lucky.

Into 'em

Scrum time scares me with Dales to start.

Would have given Owen his shot at LHP with Holmes and Saia. Bring Dales on at 60 when the Saders front row is fucked.

As one of those players, I defend other fellow chalky players when they 'just got unlucky'. ;)

Rugby in the prefessional era is a hard game when sentiment generally doesn't over-rule performance week in and week out.

Injuries always occur and that's a fact of life. Whether a Franchise, be it the Reds or others will keep a player in the top squad may be a luxury unaffodable.

Suppose the one player that even surpasses CFS is Aiden Toua. Great talent, unbelievable talent. BUT how many games has he actually played at the top level for the Reds. He has held down that spot and precluded another, maybe more durable player being in the roster and being beneficial to the club.

Certainly not putting shit on Aiden but from the Franchise's perspective , when is enough enough????

I can see Ant 12 and Taps 13, RG loves that combo. Its Worked well for so far...
Hope RG remembers that top game mention in the above post back in 2011. Tap had a great game 13 and Ant's defence at 12 was on. Also worked well in the 2011 Finals....

Nadolo is 26 now. It's taken him a long time to become a decent winger capable of playing Super Rugby.
Teams who have signed him earlier in his career have long since run out of patience waiting for him to develop.

But Link was pretty good at making blokes look like world beaters that other coaches could not.

There is blood in the water. This game will pull a big crowd. All wearing RED...... and black.

As the a crusader fans always reply at Suncorp when the "we are red" chant is on "So are we" And there will plenty of kiwis this weekend oozing with confidence.

Hope the reds can pull off there 2nd unpredicted shock of the year with a upset win over a inform crusaders. 1st unpredicted shock of the year is coming last in the Aus conference, and maybe the super rugby year. Edit,

No 4 points for a bye this year:-(

No chance Biggsy.
I saw enough good stuff from them in the 2nd 1/2 last week to think 3.20 is a good bet.
So I'm on,and you guys are in for a disappointing night with me.
I have been rock solid consistent with my bets this year,100% wrong.

I think this week's starting debut for Curtis will be the start of a long run in the Reds backrow. I can't see anyone in our stable taking that jersey back off him.

Yeah - it is a fantastic opportunity for him. The guy really needs to step up this week, show what he has over 80minutes, bend or break the line, show real physicality.

When players get their shot, they MUST take it. He should be ready to play the best game ever - this first one is now probably the most important one of his professional career.

No pressure Curtis - I wish you well and am sure you will have a beauty.

Every other finals contender will be cheering on the Reds on Sunday.

Homeground advantage has counted for so much this season, it's really hard to count the Reds out completely. The Crusaders have some injury problems of their own and the Reds will be hurting from last week's flogging.

The Force have been the only team able to win 5 in a row as far as I can tell. Other teams have won four in a row and then lost such as the Canes against the Tahs last Saturday. Hopefully the same happens to the Crusaders.

As an aside, I find it a little strange that the Reds had a game earlier in the season where they had their Mum's name on the back of their jersey yet this Sunday they're actually playing on Mother's Day.
