Well, Gunn didn't even make the U20s squad this year, which might hint about something with his form, too.

Mm true. However Rowan Perry who got the spot is a year older, Gunn can still play 20s next season.

what options does he have this weekend? Quirk and Gill out. There's no other options that to use the likes of Gunn and Browning, other than Simmo as he suggests.

McDuling is the obvious one.

Scary Front row.

Browning at 6! Good luck to the young fella.

Graham is clearly sick of Davies dropping the ball when he should have been scoring tries.

Will be interesting to see how well that run on side competes at the breakdown. Hopefully not too many scrums either.

Congrats to Browning. He has earned his call up despite the injuries.

Game plan, Beau to ambush Richie and surprise all with an over the top performance. Daley and Holmes to play the games of their lives for 50 minutes or so (Do it for Slips) and then Anae and Owen see the game out. Jake partnered by James,Curtis to punch some holes in the defense, allowing Qaude some space to run, find Taps, Dom, JJT and Mikey boy who will hopefully give him some options and put the defense in doubt by running some well thought out lines. We keep our defensive line intact at all times courtesy of an angry Ant organizational blitz of the back line and we may just surprise the bookies.

Despite all the huffing and puffing about Graham and his selections I think that's the best we can do at the moment. Would've like Kerevi there on the bench but he's played bugger all lately.

Now it's up to the boys to perform.

I still don't get finger and taps combo. It's Proven in defence and offence in past years with taps 12 , ant 13.

It's a real head scratcher. I wonder how much footy Taps has ever played at 13 before super rugby. You'd imagine very little.

I was having this great dream, then I woke up to reality.

I just...I can't even...

Fuck

By all accounts the Reds preparation this year has been as good as it has ever been but something is still so very amiss. I have this sick feeling that Dick Graham is what Robbie Deans was...A good coach who is a poor selector.

A great coach must be both, which he sadly looks like he never will be.

What do you mean by 'preparation'?

I don't think our strength and conditioning was helped by Damian Marsh leaving so late. There apparently wasn't enough time to source a new S&C guy so Ollie stepped up. I'm not bagging Ollie at all but that situation is not ideal and given that S&C is the foundation to everything else, I would say our whole preparation was underdone/undermined.

All that aside though, RG is looking out of his depth nonetheless and a better preparation probably would've resulted in us ending up mid table anyway so the point is probably moot.

Put his fucking surname. You're not a lickspittle kiwi supporter!

As long as Holmes packs low enough you won't have any issues with Crockett. If Simmons is the lineout general you all claim then their lineout won't scare you either - Flynn is shaky as fuck.

Is the rest of it you have to worry about, including the ref being afraid to penalise them

Massive over simplification Qwerty. Flynn had a Barry Crocker but to say he lost them the game doesn't give the Reds nearly enough credit.
But yeah I agree, if they don't remind him of that game a few times on the weekend I'll be surprised.

@Pfitzy, if you mean the General in regards Simmons in the line out. He himself has also claimed that in this weeks podcast. Its all on him with the calls at line out time.
