By all accounts the Reds preparation this year has been as good as it has ever been but something is still so very amiss. I have this sick feeling that Dick Graham is what Robbie Deans was.A good coach who is a poor selector.

A great coach must be both, which he sadly looks like he never will be.

It's looking like 30,000+, we hope. 48,000 in 2011 at a similar Rounds stage of S15 v Cru.

Big point you make Pfitzy. The Reds/QRU under Carmichael have done an outstanding job with the rebuilding of rugby's QLD participation rate, and in particular the Reds' fan base.

That's a major reason I'm so fraught and concerned about this year's appalling Reds season and the sad, lost-looking way the current team is going about its business. Just a mere shadow of 2010-11's team MO, not even with the backs panache Mooney left them with in 2008-9.

After all that's been achieved for the cause of the the code and its financial revival in QLD, a bedrock of the game along with NSW, if the whole post 2010 QRU construction starts falling apart again, the Reds crowds fall off, general interest fall off, $ income falls off, the consequences for Aus rugby as a whole will be extremely serious, partly as the ARU is in a far less financially viable position itself than when it bailed the QRU out in 2009.

One of the reasons I'm genuinely rooting for a Tahs S15 Title this year is if that platform is achieved it will do wonders for the cause of rebuilding rugby in NSW, which is just as crucial as it was for QLD in 2010. (I should add: the revival of rugby in NSW, Title won or not, requires far superior management of the NSW RU and Tahs RU than is currently the case. Rugby in Australia has been taken down to a low place it should never have been to if the senior management and board structures of all our RUs were world class vs the bunch of introverted, self-serving network-huggers and incompetent elitists that have so successfully seen to having themselves appointed as destroyers-in-chief.)

It's the Crusaders. It will be a good crowd. I would go as far as to say that I reckon there would be close to being more Saders fans in Brisbane than in ChCh.

Hmm... Bit worried despite how the seasons gone so far, last 4 'saders/ab's games I've been too at suncorp have resulted in 3 losses and a draw. Here's hoping for a trend breaker.

Another sunny day in Brissy, should be a great afternoon of footy. Simple equation is that if we win we go to 5th, having 7 wins to 'canes & Clans 6; win with a BP & we go to 4th, same no. of wins as Force but better points diff.

Going to find it hard to peel myself away from my house Reno's and head in today. Usually it's tools down and pumped for the game.

A 40 point drumming is feeling likely with me. And it will be through our centres who are not playing in there respected positions. Lacking all confidence in the team and more with the coaching staff at the moment.


Besides that it is a bloody glorious day today to play Rugby.

I'm a bit've a jinx too, 3 trips to Westpac for 'canes v Crusaders for 3 losses & heaps of shit from my mates on the bus trip home. Then the year I couldn't go we fucking win & I'm not even in town to give them shit about it!

I think @biggsy is being a tad pessimistic, Reds will surely want to put on a good show so I'd be happy with a win, pref with a 4-try BP.
