Absolutely correct. But often a new club reinvigorates a player.
If only he started his career with that attitude, what could have been?
All that ability , but unfortunately we had "Brand" O'Connor when he younger.

Yup - When Beiber called Phil Waugh a 'slow old dog' at Wallabies training Deans should have let The Orc beat him into a bloody smear on Coogee oval, then dropped him for the rest of that year.
He looks like he has eaten a few too many pies
A lot of rugby personalities and posters on here surprised that Thorn is letting JOC (James O'Connor) back into the fold after his previous hard stance on players with indiscretions, but really he isn't giving JOC (James O'Connor) a 'second chance', as far as we're aware they've never been associated in a professional manner.
JOC (James O'Connor) last played for the Reds back in 2015, Thorn never really got involved with the QRU in any capacity until the end of 2016 and not in a coaching a proper role (NRC) until 2017. I think that puts JOC (James O'Connor) into a very different basket than the other blokes who were actually contracted to the Reds when Thorn began his association with the QRU. In terms of getting a guy like JOC (James O'Connor) over the line, even if Thorn has reservations, it would be a lot easier for his supporters within the QRU due to those circumstances.
Both Slipper and Hunt had 2nd chances with coke whilst at the reds. Both blew it.
Perhaps JOC (James O'Connor) is getting his 2nd chance? You can bet he'll be tested.
He has learnt the Wayne Bennett lessons well (as long as a player can deliver on the field you can cope with their off field bahaviour)
Depending on the stories you skim through and reading between the lines, Bennett's holy than thou of the field persona hasn't really lived up to his 'reputation' in the last several years.
Same deal with Gary Ablett Snr down at Geelong. He'd turn up to training, jog a lap and hit the showers.

Good to see Liam Wright in the Wallabies squad. No Tate though.
